Last time I visited the USA I told the immigration officer I was visiting my fiancè in the USA and staying for some time, about 2 months, because we wanted to file for a K1 visa. I didn't lie, we really thought we were going to, but unfortunately things didn't go as planned -he wasn't working full time.

We're planning to meet again next year, and file for a K1 visa then, and if anything we'd consider asking his parents if they wish to sponsor us (and I know we don't have to send the affidavit of support documents right away).

So here's what I was wondering:

- would the immigration officer ask me why I didn't file for it last time? (not too sure they save my info anywhere)

- would it be a problem if I spent there about 2 months and a half? Mind that by then I'd have spent around 6 months in my own country.

- since I'm traveling with an ESTA document, and the K1 visa application asks for my I94 number, how are we supposed to file that? Just make a note and copy my entry stamp, flight record and ESTA?

Thanks for the help in advance, maybe I'm just being paranoid but we just want to get things right.
