That ship has sailed with the Civil Rights Act.

After all, what were to stop a white led business from discriminating against black employees?

After all, what were to stop an American led business from discriminating against immigrants?

Most Americans see that as a problem.

Can you show many several instances in which a woman with the same exact job, same exact years of service is paid less than her male counterpart ?

What year do you live in?

Businesses should not be allowed to discriminate against people. If a woman is doing the same job as a man, their pay should be the same. End of story.

 You're so upet about the idea that someone would want less government in one's life.

Equal pay and equal work is VERY subjective. I can have the exact same job as the person sitting next to me, but do 10x the work they do. However because of your precious idea of equal pay they're still making the same amount as me? Nope. Don't think so. That's now how the real world works and it's VERY hard to prove the salary the someone else makes. Matter of fact, try and find out and mention it to someone if you do, and you'll be terminated in a heartbeat.

Amusing how you ignore the fact that I mentioned I'm ok with discriminating against males too. Sounds more like you're the one that has issues with 'women' in the work place.

unfortunately, this is another topic where males think they have it all figured out but they have no friggin clue.

i have been in this situation twice in my lifetime. if you are female and paid less than your male counterparts - obama 2012 is right - there isn't much you can do about it. and since we should just let private business run sh*t however they please, unless you're ready to leave your job and file a lawsuit than you better just take your pretty lil *ss to work every day like a good girl and be happy the big mens is paying you anything at all..

I dont want government controlling everything that we do either. But when it comes to moral, ethical or social values I think government needs to make sure they set a good example. I dont beleive anyone should be discriminated against for someone else's benefit.

Are you also ok with discrimination against blacks, latinos or any other ethnic group in the work place?

and Government can set a good example in the public sector or for those who wish to receive government funds for their projects.

Government can have an impact without necessarily having a 'direct' regulatory impact.

Yes. I'm much rather know that I'm working for a bigot and choose to separate myself from such an employer.

I have no problem with discriminating against consumers in the same light as well.

I don't need to do that to realize that legislation guaranteeing women the right to equal pay is a good thing.

I am sure there are several instances and you can find them in the virtually limitless realm of cyberspace.

You contradict yourself. If that is how the real world works, then you can't say that the Government is dictating how private business works, because in your own words, there is no way to effect the law.

Mitt, is that you?!?!?!?!?!!? rofl.gifrofl.gif

Who is upset? I was laughing! You want less government so badly that you don't care who gets stomped on because of it.

I have no issuse with women in the workplace. I wish I wasn't the only woman at my job, but I am. I do more work than the guy who had my position before me did. Should I get paid less because I'm a woman, though? Nope.

There comes a time when certain things are just not logical and don't make the least bit of sense. This is one of those times.

Bold does not apply. Some of us don't need government to live our lives the way we see it should be.
