Hello......I am new here and was wondering if anyone can provide some insight?

We filed the I-751 paperwork back in October 2012 (I cannot remember when it was sent in, I haven't been keeping tack  - bad me). UCIS received our packet November 2, 2012, we received our I-797C NOA paper on November 8, 2012 and had our biometrics appointment on November 29, 2012. Since then we haven't heard anything or received anymore paperwork. Is this normal? My husbands green card expired November 22, 2012 and we are growing anxious. I called UCIS this morning and just got an automated system....couldn't figure out how to talk to a human!

Thank you for any information you can provide!

Yes it takes a long time. Could be ~6 months give or take a few.

The NOA letter (first letter that came for you on Nov 8th) is a 1 year extension on the green card. So you can get drivers license renewed and other things like that extended. Working is also not a problem.

Thank you for your reply! I had no idea it could take so long....I figured 3 months would be long enough but I apparently thought wrong. Again, thank you. I am glad to know it's not uncommon!

Received my green card in the mail today :)

Good luck to all my fellow filers, I hope you all get a positive decision soon.

I'm glad you got your card, but I have to say, it seems grossly unfair that someone who split up with their spouse gets their 10 year card 6 months or more before those of us who, you know, stayed married to our spouses and/or have kids.

I'm sure there was a complaint from my ex wife that caused them to pull my file out of the line. I actually asked the IO how come i got called for interview so soon when CSC is still processing June from last year, he completely ignored my question.

I'm sure you will get your approval soon too. Good luck.

They likely expedite cases where they usually deport the person. Turns out they agreed with her him when she he claimed the marriage was in good faith.

The fact any of this takes any time at all is retarded. My experience at consulates, USCIS and DHS has all been a huge joke.

I have a friend who is half Japanese half American mutt. His father tells me in the 1960's when he took his Japanese bride to the US they just printed her a green card at the airport. Now how many billions are spent doing paperwork? Huge waste.

Yep, the U.S. 'government' - and I use the term loosely - is too busy protecting vital national security interests from 3 year old disabled girls to waste their time with us peons: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/tsa-detains-wheelchair-bound-toddler-article-1.1269327?localLinksEnabled=false

I was just wondering if anyone has any kind of data on the Case Status part of the website at USCIS ?

When I put in our WAC.... number it just says "Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status". Really weird that it says that when we have a NOA and have already done the bio...
