When I got denied at the border back in August '10, I never cancelled my ticket. Never got sued :P

The Airline will love it if you do this. What happens is there is sure to be someone looking for a flight to Sweden and they were late in the game. Your return ticket ends up being a "no show" (required check in at 2 hours prior to flight on Internationals..and this is what the Airline WANTS to see..no shows).

So the airline now has a seat you already paid for and someone wanting it desperate to go on that flight. The Airline gets to sell the seat AGAIN only this time at a much higher profit.

This actually is what transpired on my trip to marry my wife. I was 10 minutes late to the check in on Delta Airlines. This was not good, because now I couldn't get to Moscow at the time planned, originally through New York.

"Your in luck" says the ticket person.. "we have a "no show" this morning from Seattle to Paris and we can put YOU in that seat for ONLY another $650!" I was 2 hours later on arrival and bit more poorer...but I arrived.

Saylin is correct.. your not going to be in trouble..Airlines love to make more profit like this.

NVC sent me notice that the Immigration package is sent to Embassy today, next notice should be the one containing the date of Interview. At that time I should go to the Embassy website and notify the address to express mail my Wife's Visa? Not sure on this step..I have been to the Embassy website but this step is not too clear. The Consular instruction state we must print the Bar Code sheet of her Immigration Invitation which is to be given to the clerk at the Embassy. I presume the Embassy enters into the Consular system the information, which then allows me to extract and print?? Anyone out there recently done a CR-1 through Moscow? I have registered on the Moscow Embassy website already. That's as far as I have gone not sure when to enter data and get the paper Invitation printed.

Congrats and thanks for sharing, def seems like even calling tomorrow may be a little too soon for me since I just sent the AOS last friday and my IV should be getting there within the next hour.
Thank you! Yes, it might be too soon. I just don't have the time to really call and I don't want to badger my husband about calling frequently. So we just stayed calm and played along the waiting game. Seems like their standard spiel of 10-20 working days is true, well, speaking for our case...
Grats!
Thank you!
Where are all the CASE COMPLETE folk at waiting for the next round of interviews. Please come on over to the January Intervew tread and put in your case complete so we can follow along. First off, grats on getting the interview date!

Second, up until the tax deadline in April, the 2012 taxes won't be required, so it's up to you if you want to file taxes. You probably won't get them done in time by your interview date though, so keep that in mind. If you receive the W2s for 2012 though, you can always bring those along (just copies) to the interview to show how much was made for 2012.

Thank you, Saylin! I'm fresh here on this forum and 1st impression - Saylin never sleeps :) and helps everyone. Thanks again for your help!!!

Edit - Falling Ice: Booo, you have no timeline. It's never too late (if you still remember the dates for major milestones).

hi guys just a quick question coz were filling out I-864 form, on part 3 information on immigrant you are sponsoring, should we check box number 8 saying I am sponsoring the principal immigrant named in part 2 above and then there are yes and no checkboxes what should we check in there d we don't have co sponsor.

And should we put none in spaces instead of leaving it blank if its not applicable to us? Same with ds forms? Thanks!

Uh, you got an email from NVC about this? Are you sure? blink.gifNVC doesn't send out the case for IR-1/CR-1s until after an interview date is assigned... And the interview letter will be emailed by NVC. You then print out that letter to bring to the interview.

Saylin, were those screenshots uploaded by you?

Just wondering if there was anyway that I could get the actual pdf file.

Nope, those aren't my screenshots. Although, after I had completed the DS-260, I slapped myself on the forehead as I had wanted to take my own screenshots headbonk.gif

There should be a download button somewhere for those screenshots on that site if you want to save it to your computer.

Thanks Sunanya...:)

There could be two reasons -

a) you are approved way too ahead of others. There are several others whose priority date is before yours and are waiting

for their interviews to be scheduled

b) because we had two holidays i.e., veterans day and thanksgiving, so they might be little backed up

Either case, if I were you I wouldnt worry too much, since you got I130 approved in 2 months (which you should

consider very very lucky).
