Check one box only to the of the statement that is your choice.

is it advisable to resend the scanned copy again with that cross mark?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

ok so i f my wife lives in 4 different addresses(but all in the same city ) since she was 16 , would she need 4 different police certificates ?

KDubovik is correct. The NVC wants to see police report from different locations...that is.... if there are different town, village, city, Provence, or Nations as resident.

I my Wife's case she was at university for 4 years (more than 6 months) in another part of what was then the Soviet Union. Now it is a totally different Nation so the issues of obtaining this report became more difficult to say the least! Because of this we highly recommend ALL persons in similar situations begin gathering the Police reports at NOA 2 from USCIS preparing for NVC.

The reason it is a bit risky to do at NOA1 at USCIS is because the rules about how aged the current Police Report is until Interview. I am not an expert at all but I do seem to recall that some Embassy's are less picky about the aging issues of the reports than others. We felt it is wise to be within 6 months of Interview if possible. We were told that after 6 months the CO's discretion they may or may not ask for an update Report at the current address of Beneficiary.

It would be interesting to learn if other couples have experienced these differences and issues too. The Police Reports are a really challenging part of this process and should not be taken lightly because of the difficulty in obtaining them sometimes. It cost us a small fortune to get that one document for her~!

in Egypt where my wife lives the police certificate gets done in 2 days, a lot of times you can get it done and pick it up in the same day , it costs as little as $2 and you can get it done at any police station country wide , no matter where you live or have lived your inter life ... so i'm assuming that i just answered my own question .. LOL .

I'm so confused!! I have a doubt about how i have to send my birth certificate and my marriage certificate to the NVC.

Yesterday I called to the NVC asking if I had to apostille and translate the marriage and birthd certificate!! The operator told me that I had to apostille but not translate!!

Yesterday I sent an email to my consulate asking the same question!! This morning I got and email from the consulate and they told me I just have to translate but no apostille!!

So the NVC and the consulate gave me different answers!!

hubby just passed his medical...last stop, interview!

Grats! kicking.gif You're nearly at the end!!

Hi all. I just got off the phone with NVC and apparantly there arent any dates available at the Jhb Embassy in Dec :crying:

I'm sure this is a longshot but is there any chance this could change? Like someone not pitching for their interview or I dont know... something??

Ugh being such a cry baby right now.

Unless the operator took the time to check the schedule for your specific embassy for that specific month, do NOT listen to them. There could still be openings. And even if it was full, there could always be a sudden opening due to someone canceling. Don't give up hope!!
