Hi all,

I read all the posts under this threat. It seems, most people apply for K-1 and IR-1.

I didn't see a single post for IR-5.

Anyone?

My parents NVC case was completed last week, 10/23. Currently, I am waiting for email notification for interview schedule at US Embassy in Malaysia. Wondering you guys have any ideas how long does it takes to schedule for interview after the case is completed at NVC?

Also, I sent all original civil documents along with the DS-230 form including the Certificate of Good Conduct.

In this case, when my parents go for interview, do they need to bring any documents along with them?

Most immigrant visa cases on this forum tend to be K-1 and CR-1/IR-1 yes, but I do see quite a few other family based cases on here too.

As far as the I-130 petition and interviewing goes, the IR-5 is not much different from the CR-1/IR-1. From case complete at NVC until the interview is scheduled will vary from country to country, but the norm seems to be 1- 3 weeks, 1 - 3 months til the actual interview - again, this depends in the country/consulate.
