Yeah whatever. Great reply. Guns and dead things. Woo Alaska so tough. East coast pussies can just all go and die while me laugh. Me really smart! Ug!

You know someone just cleared rubicon when they interject the former beauty-queen governor-quit of Alaska as a model or source of inspiration for anything remotely intelligent... rofl.gifrofl.gifrofl.gif

I don't know if you remember when Nome, Alaska ran out of fuel oil last year. It was in all the media for a month and a Russian tanker and ice breaker had to bail them out. Well when most of the country was making a big deal out of it, a lot of us up here were saying they made their own bed now they have to lie in it and face the consequences. They knew better than to wait so late in the year to try and get a fuel barge up there and low and behold the sea ice came in early. Stupidity up here only gets you dead. Of course everyone here was ready to fly in fuel oil to Nome seeing how we take care of our own up here.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

You think you could do a better job of survival than her? I would like to see that. I wouldn't give you a week out in the wild up here, and I know she can cut it no matter what the weather.

Here's an idea. As Alaska is so superior and can cope all on it's own and doesn't need help from the federal government and isn't even anywhere near the United States why don't you just break away and form your own country. Please!

I know I can for I have; no cameras and no posing for the press, and no helicopter for a quick trip back home.

We tried twice and this is what it got ol Joe Vogler (may he RIP). The US government fixed that one quick like seeing how they didn't want to lose their oil and gold cash cow.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Vogler

Joe Vogler

Vogler disappeared under suspicious circumstances in May 1993,[8] just weeks before he was scheduled to give a speech to the United Nations on Alaskan independence, sponsored by the government of Iran.[9][10] Convicted thief Manfried West confessed to having murdered Vogler the following year in what he described as an illegal plastic explosive sale gone bad.[8] West, trying to recant, later said the confession was a lie, but this was before Vogler's body had been discovered.[11] Vogler's remains were discovered in a gravel pit east of Fairbanks in October 1994 following an anonymous tip.[8] They had been wrapped in a blue tarp secured with duct tape and were identified through fingerprint analysis.[8] Manfried West was convicted of murdering Joe Vogler and is serving an 80 year sentence.[10]

In the opinion of AIP Chair Lynette Clark and other AIP leaders, however, Vogler's death reflected more than a dispute with West. Clark has stated, "He was executed."[12] She notes that Vogler was about to appear before the United Nations to address the issue of Alaskan independence: "The United States government would have been deeply embarrassed. And we can't have that, can we?"[12] There was also speculation that as an aging gold miner, he was merely viewed as an easy target for robbery. Although this theory has come up over the years, it was never validated.

As he had publicly promised on numerous occasions, Vogler was buried in Dawson City, Yukon, Canada, fulfilling his wish that he not be buried under the American flag. His second wife, Doris Louise, who died of cancer in January 1992, is buried next to him.

I know I can for I have; no cameras and no posing for the press, and no helicopter for a quick trip back home.

Just like you served in the military right? Spare me.

No pansies allowed up here in Alaska. Even our women governors kill and skin their own dinner. :hehe:

You are seriously using Palin as an example of the best Alaska has to offer?

Perhaps you missed it but the reason Mccain lost was people were terrified that brainless bimbo would wind up president when the old geezer croaked! She gave the impression to the rest of the country that Alaskan's are ignorant, ruthless, hockey loving, gun toting, animal killers with no knowledge of anything outside of the state.

and she can see Russia from her backyard!

You're right. I apologize to all the decent people in Alaska who don't think that people dying in a natural disaster is a source of enjoyment. I can't say what I really think because it would breach the TOS!

You think Sarah would be crying after getting hit with a hurricane? Think again. She's made of tougher stuff than that. She was raised in the valley with a gun in her hand. She's been hunting since she was in elementary school just like most up here. Her ol man Todd was raised here in Dillingham and most of the food on his table was due to subsistence hunting and fishing. We don't have "hunting clubs" or even those phony hunting ranches up here. You ain't lived until you've took a snow machine and went on a winter hunt when it was -60 with the windchill. Nothing around you for miles and cell phones are out of the question. Unless you have a satellite phone you can forget about calling anyone for help.

You can't judge the lot by a single square inch. The vast majority of people who live in Alaska are just nice people no different than any other you might find in any other state. There are good and bad people everywhere. good.gifgood.gifgood.gifgood.gifgood.gif
