First off: it's awesome that 5k in supplies were purchased. That's what truly matters.

However ... to buy it and then have people pretend to give it back and have their photo taken? Embarrassing.

No, that is not what truly matters.

Romney and Ryan are disgusting in the way they choose to buy false charity photo ops taking advantage of people in need.

First the soup kitchen where they washed clean plates for photos and now a fake can drive. If these men had one drop of integrity they would actually roll up their sleeves and help. They care about tricking stupid people into voting for them.

They should be called out and shamed for their actions.

Why would anyone want such selfish liars as leaders?

Because Obama never took any photo ops in regards to the hurricane did he now?

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

We have a disaster of national significance. Obama is the President - not sure that news has arrived in Alaska yet but it's been that way since Jan 2009. In times of national disaster, the President is very visible. It's always been that way and I don't see that changing anytime soon. So, again, if you are wondering why you see Obama on TV a lot, it's because there is a significant natural disaster and he is the President of the United States of America. Glad I could help fill that information void for you.

 Agree. Of course the President is visible during a time of national disaster. The difference between him and Romney is Obama is out working to help Americans and Romney is out trying to keep his mug in the news for his own political gain.

No, I don't believe he purchased canned goods for the sole purpose of pretending he was a human being like Romney did.

Kind of like how he helped those Americans in Benghazi or the US border patrolman killed by a weapon supplied by Obama to Mexican gang members?

Brad Pitt just donated $100,000 of his own cash to a worthy cause with no cameras rolling and no political gains involved. He won't sell even one movie ticket more or less because of it.

Romney, worth reportedly $300,000,000.00 -- which means he can burn about 2 million dollars per month in interest alone for the rest of his natural life without even having to touch a dime of his money -- spent $5,000 on foods that they are dumping somewhere, and he only did it for personal gains.

I would not mind voting for a Republican deserving of my vote, but I have no respect for this Mormon phony who has only his own interest at heart and couldn't care less about any average Joe or Jane. He is human trash. If you were to throw his body through a meat grinder, the pigs would spit it out. The only reason that he won the nomination as the Republican candidate is that he is like a cameleon, changing the color of his skin in an instant without giving it a second thought. His biggest political achievement was implementing Romneycare for Massachusetts, and the residents loved him for that. Now that Obama has used his model for the Affordable Health Care Act, he pledged to get rid of it. Thinking of Romney I must think of a guy in a bar who toasts with you, smiles, and when you turn around to put down your glass, he cuts your throat, then smiles again.

I agree. When he pats you on the back he is looking for a good place for the knife.

Romney already said he will get rid of FEMA so if he gets into office and there is a disaster everyone affected is so screwed!

He was a terrible governor. I hope no one lets him screw the whole country like he screwed MA.

It seems you are misinformed...

http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/11/02/us-usa-libya-cia-idUSBRE8A102T20121102

(Reuters) - CIA officials on the ground in Libya dispatched security forces to the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi within 25 minutes and made other key decisions about how to respond to the waves of attacks on U.S. installations on September 11, a senior American intelligence official said on Thursday.

Officials in Washington monitored events through message traffic and a hovering U.S. military drone but did not interfere with or reject requests for help from officials in the line of fire, the official said.

The information emerged as officials made available on Thursday a timeline chronicling the U.S. response to the Benghazi attacks in which Christopher Stevens, the U.S. ambassador to Libya, and three other American officials died. The material appears to refute claims by critics that officials in Washington delayed sending help to the besieged personnel.

Those Americans in Libya where begging for support and what did Obama do? He let them die is what he did. And to make it worse he tried to blame it on some Micky Mouse youtube film when he knew the truth. How pathetic is that?

If Obama wasn't visible he'd be accused of being a worthless president but because he is doing the job that the (sane) citizens elected him to do he is being accused of electioneering. Yeah whatever!

There are people on here who are making disgusting comments about people who are really suffering and have lost everything. Many have lost their lives. Certain people seem to think that this is all a great joke and they can poke fun at them. They are a bunch of pussies for not being able to cope with a huge devastating natural disaster apparently. They should just suck up and deal like the mighty people in Alaska would do. Getting your home completely destroyed and losing all your possessions and seeing your neighborhood and entire life wiped out should be something to get over in a flash. If not you're not a real man like the morons who are making these comments.

I cannot believe there are so many people with absolutely zero compassion for anyone and who don't give a sh*t about anyone but themselves. Shockingly they all seem to be republicans! Go figure.

All the more reason to hope and pray that Obama gets another 4 years.
