Oh, so Christie is pimping for Obama now? He's no longer the conservative superstar? See, that's why you guys have nothing but washed out second hand garbage politicians on the right. Because you dismiss the credible ones once they actually govern responsibly. Keep doing that so that this fcuking right fringe will make itself as irrelevant as possible. America might actually stand a chance to prosper once again.

Christie didn't want it this time around. He wanted to complete at least his first term as Governor of New Jersey. He is one of that rare breed of politician - one that believes representing his constituency is important.

Save it. Do you have internet and TV or not? If so then why even try to bs us on here. Obama's face is plastered all over the media in regards to this hurricane.

We have a disaster of national significance. Obama is the President - not sure that news has arrived in Alaska yet but it's been that way since Jan 2009. In times of national disaster, the President is very visible. It's always been that way and I don't see that changing anytime soon. So, again, if you are wondering why you see Obama on TV a lot, it's because there is a significant natural disaster and he is the President of the United States of America. Glad I could help fill that information void for you.

But it's not ok for Romney (who just happens to be running for president of the USA), to be seeing in the media in regards to this hurricane eh? Are you serious?

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Right. And maybe he is banking on being able to silence the tea party freaks in the primaries for the 2016 nomination. If he can manage that, he'd have a very good chance of becoming President. But the tea party freaks will tie these comments and appearances around his neck. You know they will. He's a tough guy with very thick skin, though. He might survive that.

Romney isn't President. Again, news might be spotty in Alaska but that's the situation in the country.

I almost forgot that your not from the USA so I can excuse you for not knowing any better. It's not uncommon for the person running for president of the USA to be involved in something like this. What's even better he isn't spending tax payer dollars unlike Pelosi who spent literally hundreds of thousands of dollars flying around the world visiting with world leaders. You would have thought she just got elected Empress of the Universe.

Obama was holding a press conference with Christie pimping for him. If you believe either Romney or Obama are not pumping this storm for maximum political gain and either one of them give real 1/2 damn about those people you are delusional.

Christie isn't pimping for Obama. Christie is being a good governor managing a major crisis in his state. Obama is being a good President doing what a President needs to do in time of crisis. If that earns him political points, then it is because Obama puts governing before politics just as Christie is doing. These are two good men not worried about the differences they have but about what needs to happen to get through the aftermath of the storm. Romney just came out today flip-flopping on his stance on FEMA which he vowed to wind down during the primaries. Now he believes that FEMA is a valuable asset that he will maintain and fund so it can do the job it is doing. Romney has no core, no stance, no backbone, no governing philosophy other than wanting to govern.

Are you serious? Obama is the president. He is not going around for photo ops, he is going around doing his job. Romney is not the president. He does not go around and do anything. He is unemployed.

At least 50 were lost, over 110 homes burned to the ground, people have been trapped in their homes for days with no power in the area next to me. Most of my neighbors are without power and it is getting cold now. I saw a line of people waiting for a gallon of gas in a gascan; the wait was 2 hours. Governors and presidents survey the damage to identify which areas need the most help.

What does Romney do? He smiles with cans he bought for the Red Cross that they don't want. It turns out those cans are not going to the Red Cross anyway. It's phony, and its smoke and mirrors. That food is not going to help the people that need it.

So it's not a good thing that Romney donated food? And where is that food going anyways if the Red Cross isn't taking it?

Last I read they don't know where it will go. They might give out from the campaign bus. I can tell you, no bus is coming here to help people that need it (roads are closed). This does less good for more effort, and seems like wasted energy. The Red Cross says if you want to donate please donate money. They have special army meals and things that heat with hot water etc to help people.

I would never donate money to a charity after reading all the horror stories. If they won't take food and clothes then they can suck it up. Fortunately for most of us up here in Alaska we can handle a natural disaster . No weenies allowed in The Great White North aka The Last Frontier.

You don't have to donate, but your attitude is despicable. I don't think it's nice to insult people that lost their homes or loved ones.

Actually what's more despicable is people who have lost said homes and loved ones acted like entitled little brats. Of course, that was NOLA in 2005... NY is different... Oh way, no it isn't.... - http://news.yahoo.com/york-governor-ask-federal-government-cover-sandy-storm-200420294.html

No one is acting like a brat. You are projecting your thoughts onto people. The people I saw were crying. If you people were hurt, I would try to help you, instead of politicizing and throwing insults.

I won't respond further.
