Congratulations sionnach ! Finally! And congratulations to everyone who passed the interview and to those of you who are already United States Citizens.

No news here yet, still waiting, waiting, waiting for my interview date,8 weeks since I've been placed in line for interview scheduling :/

I have a small problem. I got speeding ticket 10 years ago, I paid it, but I don't have any info about it, I don't even remember where I got the ticket and what court I sent the payment to, therefore I can't get any confirmation that it was paid. Also, I got 2 or 3 tickets dismissed about 5-6 years ago, again, the court doesn't have the record of those tickets because it was such a long time ago, neither does the lawyer who represented me and got them dismissed. Of course none of the tickets was drug or alcohol related and they were way below $500, but I know some IO's still request a proof of payment or proof that they were dismissed. What should I do in this situation?

I have a small problem. Its been almost 2 months since you were placed in the queue. As a January filer, I look into other timelines also. We cannot do anything until 90 days pass since the interview inline date. I would just say hang on.

With regards to your traffic tickets, you should do your best to get more information on them. Thats all I can say.

Nyla, can you get a copy of your driving record from all the states where you lived? Maybe this would help. I don't know for sure though.

Hey all, my wife's case status just updated to show that as of March 18th she's been scheduled for her oath ceremony. My guess is that it will take place on April 17th, because that's when the courthouse said that the next oath ceremony in our city was scheduled. I'll confirm when we receive the letter.

Hey Mozplay.

Yes, I already have that, my driving abstract is clean, neither the ticket I got and paid 10 years ago nor my dismissed tickets are on it. I'm hoping this will be sufficient, but you never know what to expect.... according to the instructions I don't have to have any supporting documents unless the ticket was drug/alcohol related or more than $500, which is not the case, BUT, they might still request it.

I-130 for Parents - 2013
Aug ?? - mailed I-130 packages for both mother and father
Sept 10 - NOA1 date
Sept 16 - NOA1s received

2014

Feb 25, 26 & 28 - got emails saying that the cases had been transferred to another office, then to my local office, and then just transferred and are being processed

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing

Mar 20 - N-400 receipt date for my father
2021
Apr 21 - Biometrics appt.

2022
May 2 - Interview

May 20 - Naturalization ceremony

Done with oath today.

They set up a booth for passport application after the ceremony. I submitted my passport application and selected 2 1/2 week processing.

Question - does anyone know if the 2 1/2 means the time from submission to getting the passport in hand? Because I need to start looking for air tickets to travel back home and visit my folks. Need to know when I can get this thing done.

Jul 5 - Receipt date for I-130 petition for my over 21 brother and his wife (both in the UK)

2024

Feb 23 - Sent USCIS a message asking for a processing update

May 6 - Received an email response saying things were progressing normally but that waiting times might be longer

Mine was held in Campbell. There were 400+ ppl there to become citizens. I heard there were two sessions going on, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Mine was scheduled in the morning. I arrived 9:30 sharp, with my notification letter and greencard. I forgot to fill out the back of the questionnaire. So did that on the spot. Then I handed both the letter and the greencard to the person guiding us to the seat. It felt a bit sad to see him toss my greencard in the box (more like a trash bin) simply cuz I only got the card for a couple of months and never got to use it. Anyways, the ceremony went a little bit over an hour. Then they handed us our naturalization certificate row by row, which was quite efficient. After that, everyone hurried to join the line for the passport application, which you need to bring the actually application, two photos and a checkbook (or money order). I had to run to the bank to get a cashier's check cuz I didn't realize that I had used the last check in my checkbook. But that wasn't too bad. When I got back 20min later, the long line was down to a couple of ppl.

That was it. A good day to become a U.S. citizen ;)
