IT'S OVER! My online status updated a few days ago, but I finally received my oath letter. It's been a crazy journey! My oath will be on March 6th. Updating the list :)

I also want to note that the RFE status was nonsense. I called NCS to ask again, and they put in a service request (asking for the local office to resend the RFE letter) since it was not possible that the RFE status was a mistake even though I explained multiple times that it was what the local office told me. I also contacted my congressman, and request assistance.

I am unsure whether the service request, the congressman, or just time did it, but I been approved and awaiting my oath ceremony.

Jul 5 - Receipt date for I-130 petition for my over 21 brother and his wife (both in the UK)

Feb 23 - Sent USCIS a message asking for a processing update

May 6 - Received an email response saying things were progressing normally but that waiting times might be longer

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing

I had the interview on the 14th and everything went great and super fast! I'm waiting for my oath letter now....

Did the Biometrics on the 3rd of Dec.

Yellow letter arrived on the 31st Dec.

Since then I've received no updates or change in status, thus my concern. Thanks for the info that you shared on your experience, it confirms to me that a infopass appointment is needed.

I made a InfoPass appointment for next week, so hopefully I will be able to get more info and get things moving along.

Been a green card holder since 2006, conditions fully removed in 2008.

Had my infopass appointment today, no issues in seeing someone. Person was very friendly.

She told me that my fingerprints and name check were all good. But there is an issue with locating my "folder".

In other words the local office does not have my "folder" and thus why things have not moved for me.

She will look into it, and took my phone number.

I asked if I could expect an update in the next two weeks, and her response was that it may take longer than that - but they would call me if something was needed.

Well I have to say from being first very excited about applying for citizenship, this drawn out experience is taking the good out of it.

I just want it done at this point, but the wait will continue.

At least I was uber careful about photocopying/scanning all of my submitted paperwork, so I have that to fall back on if needed.

Hopefully the infopass will do the trick to get things moving. From your timeline, conditions were removed several years ago, so maybe your file is in storage at USCIS (wherever they store them). Crossing my fingers for you that get your interview soon. :thumbs:

Hopefully this will light a bit of a fire under their butts, but regardless, it's good that you know. If you don't hear from them in 30 days, I'd do another infopass and then depending on the answer, maybe start to think about contacting your senator or local rep.

It's government unfortunately so one has to have patience.

I've set my own goal to have another infopass in 4 weeks if I hear nothing before then...

Hello everybody

I had my interview yesterday. It was very cold and snowy and we had to drive 2.5 hours, but at least my appointment was at 1 pm :) We arrived 10 minutes before the scheduled interview and were waiting for about half an hour until my name was called. First I had to swear to tell the truth. Then the officer asked for my green card and my passport. After that she was going through all the information in my application to double check if it's still ok. She took my passport to check the dates of the trips outside the US. Then she just asked all the questions yes and no...

Later she told me to read 'who can vote?' and write down 'citizens can vote'.

Then she just started asking the civics questions.

1. Who makes federal laws?

2. Why did the colonists fight the British?

3. What is the highest court in US?

4. What is the name of the vice president?

5. How many amendments does the constitution have?

6. What group of people was taken to America and sold as slaves?

I answered correctly all of them. But she didn't say a word, just left the room for couple minutes and came back with the letter for my oath (which is gonna be March 14th).

All in all the person I got was not really nice, but I passed, so it's all good. I would expect somebody like that to explain everything, say what's gonna happen next, etc.

Well...3 more weeks and I'm done :dance:
