Was hoping to post good news, but my interviewing officer told me "If it was up to me, I'd say yes. But it's my boss's decision; I'll recommend he approves you." This was in regard to a couple of trips of more than 6 months out of the country. A few hours later I got an email telling me that there is a "request for further evidence" letter forthcoming.

So, no good news yet. Wondering what further evidence they need, as I submitted tax forms, bank accounts, credit cards, etc. all indicating not having abandoned the US as home.

On a side note, he did say that if approved, it would likely be 2 to 3 months before I'd get in for an oath ceremony. Apparently the Greer SC office is backed up in that regard.

I am on the same boat, except that my interviewing officer did not tell me that, she told me she had to review the case further. I had around 5 trips out of the country, but none of them were longer than 6 months. To put things in perspective, I had my interview on January 15th, where they told me that they cannot made a decision at the moment, and needed to further review my case. A few hours later, my online case status was updated to "Request for Evidence" (which still is). A week later, I called the NCS to ask why the letter never arrived, and they recommended I wait for 15 days to request for a new letter. A couple of days ago, I called the NCS again, requesting to speak with a Level 2 Officer, which thought it was odd that (1) I was not told what further evidence they needed and (2) I was not told when the letter would arrive. The officer recommended I get an info pass and speak with a local immigration officer, as they have no access to my file. My infopass appointment was this morning, and from my conversation with the IO, the status of RFE is not correct, and we are awaiting for the interviewing officer to make a decision. They told me I would have to wait between 30 to 60 days for the officer to make a decision.

From reading a lot of forums, some people suggest you write your congressman for help, and they will inquire on your case. I plan to write to both senator and representative. But, right now I am still playing the waiting game, and I suck at it (I been checking my status on uscis.gov every 5 minutes, even though I receive both email and text notifications of any changes).

Do you defend the constitution? Have you told anyone you were citizen? Have you voted?........finally he stamped big "approved" in red stamp and gave her a packet about when the ceremony will be.

She said others in the room didnt get that package and "looked depressed" which i assume means they failed...

So the take away is

1. STUDY THE BOOK AND FLASH CARDS

Depends on where you live...if you live close to Boston (ie. Cambridge/Sommerville, you'll probably get called to Boston)

If you live north, like we do, we got called into Lawrence...

I don't know, I can always tell when I am getting an important letter from USCIS. I just get that feeling before getting home and checking the mail.

I got my interview letter today, exactly one week after I received the email from USCIS notifying me that an interview has been scheduled. My interview is scheduled for March 05, at the USCIS field office in Holtsville, NY. I was a bit surprised as I didn't even know there was a field office out there in Suffolk County. My previous interview during the AOS process was at the field office in Garden City, in Nassau County. Hence I was either expecting that or the office in Manhattan. Apparently, the Holtsville location is a new field office opened in 2010. It is set up to serve people from Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. MikeInWyoming I see what you're saying. It seems like someone re-posted the timeline earlier without editing it properly. I see that you are missing someone's EB date on the timeline you re-posted also. I am fixing it below.
