Hello everybody

I had my interview yesterday. It was very cold and snowy and we had to drive 2.5 hours, but at least my appointment was at 1 pm We arrived 10 minutes before the scheduled interview and were waiting for about half an hour until my name was called. First I had to swear to tell the truth. Then the officer asked for my green card and my passport. After that she was going through all the information in my application to double check if it's still ok. She took my passport to check the dates of the trips outside the US. Then she just asked all the questions yes and no...

Later she told me to read 'who can vote?' and write down 'citizens can vote'.

Then she just started asking the civics questions.

1. Who makes federal laws?

2. Why did the colonists fight the British?

3. What is the highest court in US?

4. What is the name of the vice president?

5. How many amendments does the constitution have?

6. What group of people was taken to America and sold as slaves?

I answered correctly all of them. But she didn't say a word, just left the room for couple minutes and came back with the letter for my oath (which is gonna be March 14th).

All in all the person I got was not really nice, but I passed, so it's all good. I would expect somebody like that to explain everything, say what's gonna happen next, etc.

Well...3 more weeks and I'm done

oh yes!

any progress in your case? I'm scheduled for oath in Rochester btw, somehow they didn't have room in Syracuse or the officer didn't know, not sure...

really? maybe the computer gives them the exact same set of questions for every day.

Congrats everyone who got good news!

I haven't heard anything yet since I was recommended for approval on 2/11... No online updates nor oath letter yet. Hopefully this week?

Received my oath letter. Scheduled for 03/21. I heard I can apply for my US passport at the oath ceremony. How long does it take for me to get my passport?

I would say about 2 weeks for a passport but probably varies a little by place

Well, my interview is on Thursday the 28th and for some reason I am very nervous. I did not list every speeding ticket I have got and reading some comments about them does worry me that I will be asked about it. Also, I did have a citation which I said I had received for something else 17 years ago and admitted to it. I got a yellow letter in the mail asking me to bring certified copies of the ticket and disposition of the court. I am afraid I will get beat up about this for some reason. Stupid college prank when I didn't know any better

Any advice on what to wear - I plan on wearing a blue dress shirt, blue and black tie, black dress pants, black dress shoes, black belt without a blazer. I am hoping this is sufficient. Its how I dress to work most of the time minus the tie, of course. Figured I should look the part of an interviewee.

Anyways, I will keep everyone updated on how things go. My interview is at 10 am CST. I will post when I get to work after the interview is done!

Hey all:

My wife aced the interview in Norfolk. We were told to expect an oath ceremony letter in the mail, so that's my only update for now. We need to wait a little bit longer, which kinda sucks, but from here on out it's just formalities.
