Hi,

I overnighted the DS-230 with all required backup documentation to NVC yesterday. An employee signed for it this morning, but they have yet to enter the info in their system which is quite understandable.

What I don't understand is why their automated system is saying that I'm missing info....They took it up on themselves to resend another blank DS-230, should I ignore that one since we previously submitted the original?

BTW The first DS-230 was mailed on October 17th, I received it October 20th overnight it to my husband who received it October 24th....he resend it via DHL and I received it on the 27th....I thought NVC knew that some applicants live overseas and it may take a week before a form can be resent. The fact that they resend the DS-230 again has me stomped.

BTW I inquire about printing forms from the internet, and they advised me not to, hence my reasoning to wait until I receive the forms from them before I send it to my hubby...I just want to make sure I'm doing things correctly.

My husband is my agent and he received a letter saying that they were missing my DS-230, even after it was sent and they had received it. So I think you should just ignore it, give it a couple of day until they can register it on their system.

I got different information from the NVC. One day I talked to a really nice lady who told me to fill the DS-230 form online, print it, sign it and leave it ready for my husband to send to the NVC, when the time came. Unfortunately afterwards I got so much conflicting info, that I decided to wait for the form. In the end I sent the online form! And had no issues with it. Just make sure it is the valid one.

You know how government agencies are...they are not the most organized of people. So just disregard your extra form.

The exact same thing happened to me. I called and spoke with someone very helpful that said when the NVC finishes processing the I-864, the system automatically checks for "missing" documents (i.e. DS-230) and updates the automated response system. Chances are they just finished processing your I-864 and hadn't received the DS-230 yet so therefore it was deemed "missing".

Good luck!

It is typical NVC automated system message after they complete the I-864 review. It means that they are yet to complete DS 230 packet review. You are better off speaking with an operator live.

Im curious if the "Missing" message changes once they have the DS-230 processed... or maybe a better question would be: What is the next message if everything is OK?

Thanks!
