So got another letter today from my Senator. I wasnt expecting much help but atleast he repled quickly. Here is what it said:

Dear Mr. *******,

I recieved correspondence from USCIS indicating that all I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, cases are outside of processing time at the Atlanta Field Office. USCIS is currently working on a plan to reduce this backlog.

Your I-130 application is still pending and no estimate on adjudication could be given, though the Atlanta Field Office is processing these cases in the order in which they are recieved. I will contact USCIS again in 60 days to follow up on the process of your petition.

I hope this information will be helpful to you, but should you need further assistance with this or any other matter, please let me know.

But they're not, and you have confirmation of that. Can you reply and make it clear that Atlanta in fact hasn't even STARTED on these petitions? What you got was a generic answer, and this is def NOT a generic situation!!

Yes you both Roosha ans KDH are correct. They havnt even looked at them! I figured id get a generic answer the ole "help but no help" reply. I dont know what to do now....

By the way KDH, I didnt know about them not being processed until AFTER I sent my privacy release form and letter to the senator. I thought id see what he says and what we really know...and clearly senator didnt try to help at all.

Logged in today and got the approved message, so it’s not the entire district. The Charleston Field Office is processing petitions.

I wish all of you a SPEEDY approval! I hope there is some movement very, very soon!

I am going back there to the field office on Monday morning. I'm bringing a formal letter to Paul Onyango. I'm also going to see about writing my congressman's office (Hank Johnson) this weekend, and also the two senator's offices (Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson).

I had asked him if the same was true of Houston (it isn't). Cornyn is involved in immigration issues and may well mention the Atlanta situation to his colleagues.

It may be worth calling or writing other Senators who are influential in Immigration matters. Look for committees and subcommittees dedicated to immigrant issues, reform, and so forth, and note who is in them. Tell them that although you are not their constituent, their reputations are impacted by this shameful delay. Word is getting around that Atlanta are childishly ignoring their work. If you know people who ARE constituents of those Senators on the committees, have them write in like me and mention the Atlanta situation.

Write back! Something along the lines of "I realize you have a lot of work but I just want to make sure that you are aware that the Atlanta office is not processing petition b/c they're d*ckheads (insert real reason here). This is something that should really be looked into and I just want to make sure that you are informed. I thank you for your time."

You can also call. Just say you would like to speak to a staff member who deals with immigration cases. I did that for myself and had a nice chat with a young lady who was unaware of the Atlanta situation and sounded upset by it, even though she was in Texas. Some people do actually give a damn.
