i don't consider myself a bully. or a champion of humanity. not at all. i hardly consider myself a feminist but since i'm female and stick up for myself - i get that a lot.

i also get that the op (who hasn't been back..) wanted sympathy for his situation. and i empathize with getting the shaft. i really honestly do. no pun intended. but this guy - seemed real deft in using the term "get another one" and that is why in my first post i said that i hoped he was a troll. i see posts on vj day in and out that are in keeping with the commodity aspect of 'paying fees' in order to manifest a living relationship and i don't say anything at all - because it isn't relevant to any advice that i may give. so i don't. but in this case - i felt i was calling a spade a spade. if you don't see where i was coming from..well, maybe let the op post something in response.

Yes, this racist comment of val erie is totally out of line. I realize the long, despicable history of racists referring to Filipinos as the ni**ers of the pacific, but this does NOT justify her use of racist terminology.

It comes from the Greek, and the first instance of the phrase was in a 16th century translation of Erasmus, predating the first recorded instance of the word "spade" as a pejorative term for an African or African-American by almost 400 years.

I just thought it was funny, because there was so much talk earlier about misinterpreting a phrase on here, and then oops, it happened again.

Edit to add: I asked my boyfriend to choose a new avatar for me. He thought this new one summed up my combination of sweetness and quasi-trollishness nicely.

not sure why you are so shocked and suprised about this happening to you. this was always going to fail you are seeking much younger women and that too from a country that is capital of Fraud. surely in the back of your mind you must have thought this could happen one day....anyways yea go get another one and when that one leaves get another one and so on and on. Exactly the point. See how easy it is to do? If we allow this kind of predatory word-policing from little bullies with pet agendas then there is almost nothing anyone can say without someone injecting themselves and getting up on their soap box to preach their pet agenda.

This page is especially prone to this behavior because the most basic human motivation is companionship, so when one relationship ends there is the logical necessity of getting another husband/wife. Bullies most especially like to pick on someone already down, so look how we have another little bully piling on to browbeat him for being with a younger woman.

A person must have hope when they're so thoroughly downtrodden, and yes - there is hope. The USCIS will not reject an application for a previous relationship failing. Half the marriages in the USA fail and some states like California are off the charts, closer to 70%. So they get another one.

He is African and was not here in the U.S. when these types of words were used derogatoryly. Although i am only in my 30s i can remember being called these words when I was young and my mother crying because she wasnt there at the time it was said and I didnt know the meaning because my mother and father never taught us what color we were and the negative contations it carried.
