i had my visa interview in usa embassy the same day and time when sandy hurricane hit ny.

when i went to visa officer window then he directly ask me to give him all documents which i think can support my visit to usa then he told me that it would take more than 2 week to process my visa and he kept all my documents with him.

i have never heard that usa embassy ever kept documents of anyone.

do you have any idea that what will they do with those documents?????????????

will they check each and every thing in detail which may take very long time.

They often keep documents, or copies of documents. They may check if they are real, or contact the employer/ university/ whatever that is listed on the document to check the information and make sure it is current.

Wait for 2 weeks and see what you get from the consulate.

Consultant has no power over the consulate and he cannot do a thing so providing him with your information is not going to do anything.

Sometimes they need to check your documents that you have provided, they need to check your background etc and they need that additional time to do so.
