And you can't get that exposure without first making "Faustian" deals with corporate sponsors and lobbyists. So by the time you are ready to run for election you are already iredeemably corrupt.

Hey you're in NJ now right? Is the "Diversity is Strength" party running candidates in your district? They are running a guy in my district, when asked about issues, he said "the issues aren't important .. what's important is that people vote for a third party" ...

I'm waiting for JoeBob the trash truck driver to run for president. I'd rather vote for him.

Or maybe Hank the auto mechanic.

Well hopefully our governor here in Maryland will someday run for President. He was raised near where I live and his father was a car salesman. He's a first class blue collar Republican.

Ehrlich? I hear he's down in the polls, he's nto going anywhere if he can't get reelected.

Hey, if I want to vote for a third party, maybe I can write in Stephen Harper (current Canada PM) to represent me in Senate and Diane Ablonczy (current MP for a Calgary constituency, she was born in Peoria--making her eligible on ONE count) for presidency in 2008.

Due mostly to two factors:

  • Yanks' perennial state of dissatisfaction with current party after 8-12 years
  • MD is traditionally a dem-stronghold state where a jadu (for non-desis, straw broom) with a label "democratic party" could easily get elected

Governor race a tossup

The Maryland governor's race is a virtual tie less than a week before Election Day, as Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr.'s relentless attacks on Mayor Martin O'Malley's record on crime and schools have eroded the Democrat's support in the Baltimore suburbs, a new poll for The Sun shows.

O'Malley, who led by 6 percentage points in The Sun's September poll, has seen his advantage drop to just 1 point, well within the survey's margin of error. Ehrlich, who has spent months trying to convince voters that O'Malley's record as mayor makes him unqualified to lead the state, appears to be consolidating the base of support that in 2002 made him Maryland's first Republican governor in a generation.

Pretty good in a state that is 2 to 1 Democrat and not the year to be a Republican.

Have you heard the urban legend in India where some small regional party registered a donkey under a party and then went on to win?

Illegal based on US laws, as he was born in Middle East and didn't live to see 35 (president must be minimum of 35 years old born in US).

If you want to quote polls, check out RealClearPolitics.com.

RCP averaged out all recent polls and they have OMalley up by 4.7%. See the link for more.

Writing in Canadians isnt illegal? As long as you're going to be silly, just write in your Lord and Saviors name. He was perfect, after all B)

In that case, not suitable--as they actually must also be irredeemably corrupt (both Harper and Ablonczy who have been MP's since 1993, qualify nicely on that score).

If the Baltimore Sun is calling it even I would almost think he's ahead, since they haven't cut him any slack from day one and clearly want O'Malley to win.

http://tinyurl.com/yft66n

(November 1) The Baltimore Sun's poll gives O'Malley a one point edge 47%-46%, Ehrlich still trails in the RCP Average by 4.7%, but that includes a Washington Post poll that over sampled heavily Democratic African Americans and shows O'Malley ahead 10 points.

After seeing Mt. Vernon and adjacent areas, and Inner Harbour area (in all these areas, there is a lack of civic sense reminiscent of Mumbai), I certainly prefer Ehrlich over O'Malley (as he was mayor of Balto when I saw it).

I think there are going to be a lot of surprises next tuesday. 6 months ago it was a lock for the dems to win both houses by a landslide and now most of the polls say the senate isn't going anywhere and the house is to close to call. I seem to remember the last 2 elections the polls were totaly wrong also. Gonna be interesting next week. Get ready for a protracted time of lawsuits and challenges.
