Hi everyone! One simple question to ease my agony...

Is there anyone out there that initiated their K1 Visa (Vermont Office) in mid-May 2012 & has received a decision yet?

I called my attorney's office yesterday about the current excessive waiting period @ the Vermont office. They used to be ahead and California was behind. I guess it must be like that...back and forth. Anyway, my attorney's office indicated that the Vermont office is now getting help from multiple offices so they can catch back up. I see their recent website update indicates K1 not yet married as April 16, 2012. That is the date as of 'Sept 30th' -I think it was. So, they must be getting close to ours...right... They rcvd our petition on May 15, 2012.

So, I am looking for light at the end of this long tunnel...has anyone rcvd a decision from Vermont who's petition was rcvd by them in May?? Or are they still working on April?

Thank you for any input you may have!

Welcome!

Yes, that link can be found under 'Immigration Timelines' and then, 'Processing Status: Igor's List'. It is dependent on what USCIS lists as normal processing times and the members of VJ that utilize the Timeline feature in their profile. After you have navigated the site a bit, you will find all kinds of useful (and not so useful :P ) information. Good luck!

I'm a May 7th filer and have not received my NOA2 yet. I know how you feel...It's torture.

meganann: Did you see the info JE06 posted? They are in the May 4th 'group.' If they are currently working on that, then your petition is soooooo close to being touched! :) Good Luck!

JE06: Yeah, I was so excited to hear this information from my attorney's office! Especially after not being able to get any straight answers from the USCIS directly. I thought the fact that the VSC has reached out for assistance - would help brighten someone else's day, too.

I look forward to the update from you that your case has been 'touched' AND COMPLETED!! :)

This long wait time is definitely torture! It's been so much more difficult since we met in person, actually! Everything has strengthened on so many levels after our experience of life outside of our 'electronic' bond!

***Can anyone add any feedback of the process after the USCIS? How can you track your case after it leaves to the Visa processing center? I know that he will have to complete the medical screening and interview & I believe the timeline for this is about 2-3, right? Does everything move smoother after the long USCIS wait time?

Thank you~ I was wondering about that as well...I'm really counting down the days! Of course, every hour feels like a day...especially after all this time.

Hi all!! I just did a little research on the USCIS website regarding volume and trends of the CSC vs. the VSC and here is what I have found (based on their latest chart data date of Aug. 12, 2012). Here is what I have found:

1) On April 12 CSC had 11,800 pending I-129f petitions pending; on August 12 they had 7,800

2) From April 12 - Aug 12 CSC has received 9,800 new I-129f petitions

3) From April 12 - Aug 12 CSC has completed 12,700 petitions (reducing their backlog by roughly 3,000 - 4,000 petitions depending on how they were adjudicated)

4) On April 12 VSC had 14,400 pending I-129f petition; on Aug 12 they had 18,900

5) From April 12 - Aug 12 VC received 10,200 new petitions

6) From April 12 - Aug 12 VSC has completed 6,900 I-129f petitions

Now, I have no idea about the staffing at each center and I also have read that VSC processes certain types of visas that no other center or field office processes so maybe these are factors that effect the volume at which they process I-129f petitions. But it's pretty obvious that during this time period VSC is either concentrating on other visa process, they are severely understaffed for their workload, etc. Maybe a combination of a lot of things.

As an October filer, I know I have a wait ahead of me and I see that CSC timelines for NOA2 have gone up a bit at CSC and have fallen a bit at VSC over the past two weeks. Hopefully, this indicates that they are balancing the load of the I-129f petitions so that everyone has a shot at a 5 month timeframe or less, very shortly. Even though I want my SO with me as soon as possible I realize that there are a lot of couples ahead of us and I wish us all a lot of luck in our approvals. Just thought I would share what I have found (at least through Aug. 12).

Has anyone talked to their representative to try and get the 'real story' of what is going on at VSC? Are they shedding workload? Have things improved significantly (or can we expect this in a very short time)?

Thanks and good luck to all!!!!
