Hello,

I will be sending in the packet for our C-1 but I was wondering if there is a quicker or another way toget him here if at least for the birth of the baby which is 5 months away. He lives in the Dominican Republic and if any one knows anything it would be greatly apperciated. Any hepl would be great. thank you so much!

Not likely he will get a visitor visa from the DR, especially if they know he is coming for the birth of his child. He will have to be able to show STRONG ties to the DR in order for him to get a visitor visa i.e, home owner, car in his name and money in the bank and for some that is not even enough. And to do a spouse or fiance visa it is not likely the entire process will be over in 5 months, even if it goes quickly. We are at 5 months now and we still have not gotten our interview date yet. You are looking at a minimum of when you file til him actually in the US of about 7 months and that is with the K1 fiance visa...the Cr1 spouse visa may take a month longer not sure. Best of luck to you.

Moved from IR-1/CR-1 Progress Reports to Tourist Visas forum; topic is not a case status update and the question asked by the OP is makes the topic most relevant to this forum.

**Organizer hat off**

I'll expand on what bt1 indicated. Your husband can apply for a tourist visa prior to the completion of the spousal visa process. However, the chances of him being granted a tourist visa are next to nil.

sad story, back in the good old days he would have had no problem visiting.

it seems like you have less rights if you are married.

no wonder there are so many illegals here in the USA.

a backward system, I might say.
