Good afternoon,

My fiance and I are going to be traveling to the US in about a month. Using the information from this site our visa process was very smooth (they never requested more information). So I'd like to thank the site for that!

We are traveling together from the Czech Republic (where she is a citizen) through Poland. We have a short layover there and then we will last in Chicago. We have a 5 hour layover there which should be long enough for her to get through customs with her visa. Then we are going to our final destination in the US.

I am nervous only because I am unsure if there is anything that will surprise us on the trip. We know that we will be pulled aside in Chicago and her envelope with all her visa papers will be inspected. We have plenty of time for that. But is there anything else we should expect along the journey?

She will need to fill out an i-94 form, correct? Will she put that she departed from Poland or from the Czech Republic? Does she need to do anything other than have that form filled out, her visa papers, her visa, and just in case, her chest x-rays, before the flight? I want to make sure everything is completely done to make sure this last leg is smooth.

Any tips, hints, or suggestions from anyone who has gone through this last part?

Thank you very much for your time! :-)

At POE they will take the sealed envelope and look inside to make sure all of the papers are in order. They may ask a few questions and they will take fingerprints. My husband arrived in Boston a few weeks ago, it took him 10 minutes to get through immigration, it was easy and painless. Good luck!!!

Agree with above, make sure that they staple the I-94 in her passport you will need it during the rest of your proces

As far as i can remember the departure location of the flight is what you write on the I-94. It will also ask for other countries visited in the trip.

So you will write - Flight Number and Airline, Departure point of flight, Countries visited on the trip.

IE - UAL 350 - Warsaw - Poland,Czech Republic

2008 - Met Amber Online Whilst I Was Working in GA.

07 - 2011 - Met For The First Time Whilst I Was On Vacation in FL

12 - 2011 - Visited Amber for a Week

04 - 2012 - Spent 10 Days in SC - Engaged

08 - 2012 - Amber visited UK for 16 days.

12-2012 - Spending 14 days in SC -Wedding Planning

my husband arrived 2 months ago and it took him about 10 minutes . No problem they will only check to make sure a;; the papers are in the envelope and ask basic questions. (not about your relationship).

My wife, her 2 year old son and the dog landed at O-Hare and within an hour were walking through the doors. Your 5 hour layover is too much but will afford you something else....discussed later.

But is there anything else we should expect along the journey?

Helpful friendly folks. Don't be afraid to ask for help.

She will need to fill out an i-94 form, correct?

That will be issued on the final plane journey.

Will she put that she departed from Poland or from the Czech Republic?

Ask the flight attendants; they are very experienced at this.

Does she need to do anything other than have that form filled out, her visa papers, her visa, and just in case, her chest x-rays

Nope, keep those in her checked bags, they never want those at POE. Who's gonna read them? Not border control!!

, before the flight? I want to make sure everything is completely done to make sure this last leg is smooth.

Any tips, hints, or suggestions from anyone who has gone through this last part?

Your BIGGEST problem is gonna be......determining where to eat !!! O'Hare has many excellent restaurants to choose from.

I highly recommend the Berghoff Cafe, but the Billygoat Tavern is legendary as well as Goose Island Brewery.

Connie's Pizza is traditional Chicago style pizza.

Thank you very much for your time! :-)
