Good day,

I have a few questions regarding my marriage to my Filipino husband.

We got married this month and I used my U.S citizenship as my nationality.

I am a dual citizen; Fil-American. My question is that do I have to update

the U.S embassy that I got married? If so, what are the the papers that I

need to bring to them.

I also have a follow-up question :star:

It's about my baby that I will deliver anytime this week :D

My question is that we are planning to make her a U.S citizen (if possible dual

citizen). Is there any requirements for us that needed to bring to the embassy?

Please help and thank you ^_^

You do not have to update the U.S. Embassy regarding your marriage.

In another post, you were asking whether you needed to submit a parental consent form to get married in 'Pinas since you were 23 years old and a dual citizen. Did the Civil Registrar require you to submit a parental consent form? If the Civil Registrar did not require you to submit a parental consent form, did you submit one anyway? I'm guessing that the answers are "no" and "no."

You don't have to do anything in the US. If you are a US citizen already your baby is US citizen also. Did you apply to get your Filipino citizenship back after becoming a US citizen. If not you do not have Filipino citizenship until you apply to get it back. If you have Filipino citizenship at the time the baby is born then the baby will also have Filipino citizenship. If not then you will have to apply for the baby to have Filipino citizenship. My wife and I had a baby girl November 2011 and my wife didn't become a US citizen until March 2012 so when we went to the Philippine consulate in LA to report the birth we were told all of this info.
