Hi NC,

I live in Raleigh, NC... Like you, I am also concerned with how this very personal information is handled and if it is returned. I've not been able to get a definitive answer on this yet, but naturally, my concern is with identity theft. I look forward to other replies to your post. Best wishes to you on your visa journey.

Regards,

Andrew

The Embassy is a government entity and are required to keep PII. Identity theft is rampant anywhere. So, to put your minds at ease, there are companies out there who can play watchdog for your credit/identity and get protected. Google them.

As far as the interview, most Consul don't even ask for bank statements. Provided your petitioner meets the criteria on poverty level.

Good luck and chill.

You have to have the original I-134 that bears the original signature of the sponsor (your fiance)

Only original copy of I-134 and ink signed. Have him mail it to you quick.

Good luck!

You need to submit originals of the I-134 and the updated letter of intent to marry. The other documents you mentioned can be photocopies.

As you can see from the documents your fiancé sent you, an income tax return and a W-2 are not the same thing. Your fiancé can explain the difference to you.

Your fiancé is wrong. The Filipino pre-screener and the consular officer are going to require an income tax return regardless of whether he was self employed or not.

If you do not submit the income tax return at your interview, the consular officer will issue you Form MNL-IV-22 (a 221g). The 221g will require you to submit an income tax return before your visa can be issued.
