Hi all. I need some help here. I am a canadian citizen and I am currently waiting for my interview date (PD April 2006 -F1) and got a first offense DUI this past weekend. Is this going to be a problem for me trying to immigrate to the US? I've been waiting 7 years. I also have had NO previous criminal record/activity at all.

What do I need to do to make this not affect my chances on getting my visa....or am I screwed now?

Let me know what you can and thanks

Jason

Yes your tottaly screwed ... unless you mail the first person who responds to your post five thousand US dollars in cash! ..... this topic has been discussed before from what I recall it does not impose a large issue unless the offense is a feloney which is generally something that is violent or a sexual assault. But if you are asked about it you might want to read fine print it excludes all traffic violations except the ones that result in a fatality.

Hey, thanks for the response. I'm assuming they will want another police report (the last one they got was from 2 years ago before retrogression) so is there some other forms or anything I should be including with that or just send them the new police report and talk about it with the interviewer?

I did (am doing ) a lot of searching on this to find out whatever I can. I'd hate to be pooched now when I'm so close.

Thanks!

J
