Please feel free to rant... It helps me not go absolutely bonkers. I think it's the holiday season now causing the delay. Whatever it is, this is ridiculous. There is no way to hold them accountable for such horrible service. If this was free, that would be one thing. But we had to cough up more money.... To wait yet again! Outrageous. Cannot plan a darned thing and our lives are completely at a stand still.

How's that to join your howling? ;)

Just searching similar timelines and found someone who sent in packet 3 October 11, received packet 4 November 2, and got an interview date of December 12. My gosh how behind are they to already be scheduling so far out in December????????

That was me - do not be too disheartened, as I specifically asked for a December interview date as I am in America for all of November. Hopefully yours comes through soon.

May 20th 2011 - Meet in Chicago through mutual friends.
May 28th 2011 - Start relationship.

That helps a bit, thank you for explaining that. Enjoy your visit! :)

However, it doesn't look good with the post above by Epic adventure, who has been waiting even longer. Wonder if they keep them in stacks and do them in groups like USCIS did?

Tigerflower how amazing!! So what was all that worry and upset they caused people by saying they were overbooked for November and asking people to change to December all about??? My interview was today too (9th November) and I will be so interested to hear what your fiance said! My appointment was for 9am and I was in the Embassy ten minutes before that but my interview actually only look place at 12 pm and I was out for 12.30 pm - A P P R O V E D!!!

Dying to hear your good news too

Congratulations to you!!!!

Thank you :) I honestly believe it was a last minute cancellation. I think the over booking is for the IRCs?? Not sure, but if you look at the thread in the UK region ( I think it's Nov appointments being set back ?), it's there.

Approved. I feel so bad as there are people waiting before me. I've posted a review.

A BIG BIG thank you to Nich-Nick. Kept me from going totally insane and posted invaluable information. Our Saint!

Does anyone know what the different prefixes of the numbers used for those waiting for interviews stand for?

Today there were an incredible amount of 'N's, only about 5 'I's and the odd 'E'. I was an I and spent three and a half hours at the Embassy today. My appointment was for 9am and I got in at 8.50 am. My papers were checked by 9.15 am but my interview wasn't until 12pm.

A wild guess would be N for non-immigrant, I for immigrant and can't imagine what E would be!!

We're still waiting :(

Paul had his medical on October 9th and sent his DS readiness and CV on October 12th, I called DOS on thursday and I talked to someone named James, he said that our case was awaiting an interview date and that they only schedule interview dates for the current month up until the 10th of the current month, basically saying if we didn't get an appointment by the 10th then we wouldn't get one for november. :( We made a note saying that we'd take the soonest appointment available but I didn't' think to put cancelations too - we also told the embassy that our wedding date was November 23rd and james told me there was a note saying our wedding was for the 17th which was weird? I don't know I just feel so down about it - I know it takes a while and it's a waiting game but it just gets harder the closer you get - I guess it would be getting easier if we knew when and I really wanted him to come out before christmas, as everyone else waiting I'm sure.

Hopefully DOS will be open tomorrow so I can call and ask fingers crossed it's something soon!

Good luck everyone!

Louise

Oh Louise I really feel for you. Sadly, the US consulate in London is definitely closed today for Veterans Day - they told me that at my interview last Friday so you would assume that DOS will also be closed. You may just get some good news tomorrow though - will be hoping for you xx
