I think I will order some room service so I can keep someone employed.

Still relying on one polling source, eh? Nate Silver's forecast currently shows a 72.9% Obama / 27.1%.

InTrade has Obama at 61.7%

Helmut Norpoth and Michael Bednarczuk (SUNY, Stony Brook University) give Obama an 88% chance.

Michael S. Lewis-Beck (Iowa) and Charles P. Tien (Hunter College) give Obama a 77% chance.

You can read about their methodology as well as their accuracy here.

Yep.. Rasmussen has traditional been the most accurate and as I said "The most recent"..

I could have showed Gallup.. It would not make you happy.. Latest Gallup Polls

I also look at poollheadlines which shows the latest from Gallup, ABC News, CNN, Pew research, etc, etc.. Not much difference in the numbers state by state

Oh hey look a new Gallup poll: Romney up 7 Points in early voting

Also if you remember my posted map (you seem to be good at remembering past posts).. I predicted Obama..

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

They won't raise taxes. They will starve the government further until the the whole ship sinks. They will destroy America while claiming to save it. They're idiots.

Hmm starve the government until it spends what it takes it. Awesome idea.

New Poll released: NPR: 8-point swing puts Romney in front (the poll was conducted several days ago)

Polls that survey likely voters nationwide are useless. Even if they over-sample 12 battleground states. It's almost like some of these pollsters have never heard of the electoral college.

They are useful for trends and surveying momentum and tweaking the koolaid drinkers... As some people like to say "They become a self fulfilling prophecy"

Did you read the article you linked to past the headline?

But Democratic pollster Stanley Greenberg and Republican pollster Whit Ayres found that Obama leads by 4 points in the 12 battleground states that appear ready to pick the winner for the rest of the country next Tuesday. And they suggest that Romney's post-debate surge has "stalled."

...

What's more, those polled said that Obama, by a 55 percent to 44 percent margin, has spelled out a clear agenda for the nation.

The electoral college is a b!tch, isn't it?

Indeed - the self-fulfilling prohecy of Obama making it past 270 as the article you celebrate points out in very clear terms. ;)

Yes it is. Romney could be up 55% to 45% in the nationwide polls. Who gives a sh!t? Popular vote doesn't mean anything. I hope Romney wins, but in order to do that he has to get 270 ELECTORAL votes. If Romney wins by 3 million votes, but doesn't get to 270, he lost. Bottom line.

again.. my map predicts Obama at 282. I will not rejoice if either man wins though if Romney wins I will get the satisfaction of seeing people on here cry and if Obama wins I might win the fill-out-the-map game.

I did read the article.. I even went through the survey it links to.. The article is about two polls paid for by NPR showing an 8 point swing four weeks apart. The name of the link is the exact title of the article (I cut and pasted). What is your beef?

That's right. It's what happened in 2000. The guy that won the popular vote lost the election because the other guy had 271 electoral votes.

It's odd that people here wouldn't be excited for a Romney win, but they would be excited to see the reaction here.

What beef? The poll reflects what polling has reflected for some time now - Obama is poised to win re-election. I have no beef with that.
