Really confused

I called NVC this morning to check the status of our K1, and the rep. told me that our case was forwarded to the embassy on the 24th of Oct but, I told her that I did not receive any letter or anything and she told me that my fincee will received somthing from the embassy. Is that true???? I thought I would received a letter asking for my financial and etc....

can someone help me with this??

Did you get your case# from the NVC. NVC for K1's is just a pit stop than off to Embassy where they will send you all your infomation via email. This will instruct you to get medical and get your paperwork together.

So just hand on it should be coming soon.

Did you put your email address on the forms or give it to NVC?

They contacted me via email but this was after I had called Immigrant section in Lagos. In the email they gave us an interview date and an attachemetn fo forms.

At this stage, Gowon recommends that you get started getting the USC side of documents ready (they really should be ready sicne you had at least 3 months) and also the Nigerian side of the documents like original birth certificate, police report adn possibly the medical (I can't remember if the clinic asked for the embassy appointment letter).

Also do you know when they might schedule his interview in Lagos?

You have to send an Email to LagosIV@state.gov to ask for an interview, remember to put your case number that starts with LGS and the beneficiary's name

Once you know your date, he can do his medicals and police report, you can get all that done in a week....... if he's birth certificate isn't ready now, he should get that done ASAP

Once you send the email asking if they have schedule the interview ( i would wait 5 days or more), they will respond with attachment that is packet 3. It will include instructions on what to do. If your fiance doesnt have it now, he can go get his birth certificate.
