How to track case status

Hi,

I have a noob question, please don't bite me I just mailed off my AOS package last week and it arrived in Chicago on Friday. I'm wondering if the number one uses to track their AOS case status on the USCIS website is the same case number one is assigned with their I-129F (if you're a K1 like me). Or, do you simply wait to receive the AOS NOAs in the mail, and therefore your new case number, before you can track it online? I attached the E-notification form, by the way, but I also attached it for my I-129F and didn't get any electronic updates so it seems a bit unreliable... I want to be able to check my case status regularly ASAP

It's not the same case number, no, because it's a different application. Your AOS case number will start by MSC, and you need to wait for your email/text update or your NOA to have it.
