“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

i never had this problem about religion befor we was living together in my contry for 2 year and i go to moque and pray 5 time a day and fast and live like a muslim i even thought she will be muslim but when we got her in usa she meet her frind and and she change her and take her to church and i even dont know my wife right now

and we was planing to have 2 kids and she said i dont care about what their religion will be that only because she know that she cant have kids and i just found out that from her mom and im broken now she is the one playing games with me im not i leave my contry and my job for her and now im suffring my advice is dont ever belive amirecan woman they all liers that what happend to me and my wife is skinny and im older than her for the poeple think that she is ugly she is pretty but

thank to all poepl try to help me

This information casts a different light on the whole story for those who were so skeptical. This is a matter of a spouse converting to intolerant Christianity and having lied about the ability to have children.

You have a ten year green card. You can divorce and it will not affect your permanent residency.

While it is true that Islam recognizes Jesus as a prophet, the reverse is not true: Christians reject Mohammed as a prophet and you can't be a Christian and Muslim at the same time. It isn't a matter of Muslims being intolerant of Jesus. Christians are intolerant of Mohammed.

By the way Jesus PBUH means "Peace be upon him" to those who are wondering.

Im speechless i have no words to say about your wife, i cant believe anyone would do that and try to change a person. My fiance is a muslim and i respect that about him and we do talk about religion and he never force me to convert or n fact i have no problem with him being a muslim and also when we have kids our kids will be muslim i dont mind but its a shame that some people think they have the right over someone when that person comes here to america and have no family member here and trying to adjust. Anyways i hope everyting turns out well for you and ur wife.

   Well said! As Muslims, that is a huge subject that we constantly have to explain to non-Muslims because they think we don't beleive in Jesus. We just don't beleive he is the son of God, but do beleive that he was a great prophet.

Yousseff, I am sorry that your wife changed on you and didn't tell you she can't have kids. And I know divorce is the last thing you want, but she married you under false pretenses, and she became something that she was not before. It's not your fault if you divorce her, Allah will not judge you for that. Please don't think you have to keep suffering through this. Where are you from? Do you have family here or back home that can help you in your situation? Think about your future, you can't keep suffering with this person, she is oppressing you to be the religion you are. You deserve to have a wife you respects your religion and not oppress you. Maybe in the future, you can find a nice Muslim woman so this doesn't happen next time.

No maybe not but "just" trying to impose to other cultures and countries your way of doing... You are the worst example of not adapting to the local culture (i can tell you that as i have witnessed it in my country). When i was in college in the US there were a bunch of saudi students who were trying to get people to participate in qran study groups etc... like they were sent there on a religious mission, i have seen those guys more than jeovah witnessess.

Anyway i have been reading a lot of failed k1 marriage stories due to the fact that people discovered something about they husband/wife. So maybe people should live together and spend more time together than just seeing each other 2/3 times a year before getting married!

Easier said than done when the spouse is not from a VWP country.

I agree with you on the spending more time together first before getting engaged and married.

But as far as your OPINION of us Muslims being the "worst example" of not adapting to the local culture, you are way off. Why is it that in America, my own country, I can't get some jobs because I don't speak are FOREIGN language like SPANISH, VIETNAMESE, HINDI, etc? Whose not adapting there?????????? Muslims? NOT.

Do you say that about the Amish, Mennonites and others like them from Europe who live in their own closed communities and don't use modern conveniences like electricity, cars, etc? How is that adapting to the local culture??? Do you have a problem with them, too? Probably not because they are Christian, so they are OK with you.

And what about in the early immigration days of this country, in the early 1900', when each nationality stuck together in their own communites and neighborhoods, like the Italians, Irish, German, etc? Are they a BETTER example than us Muslims of "not adapting" to the local culture? Why don't you mention them? Oh that's right, most of them were Christian, Catholic, etc., so it's OK with you.

You obviously don't like Muslims, and will think of any excuse to bash us, but it's OK, it's your right, but remember we have a right to not like you either for our own reasons. Just because we as a group typically are not seen getting arrested for being drunk in public or wearing bikinis at the grocery store, and being conservative in behavior and dress, doesn't mean we haven't adapted to the local culture.

Karee: there are plenty of other visas: student, exchange, work , B2 (for non visa waiver countries)... Even though I am from a VWP country 90% of the time i have been in the US was on a visa (exchange, student). Then if you can't do it, i mean you are taking the risk of having a relationship that doesn't work because you simply don't know each other (for me, you don't know the person before you have lived with him/her) so going the K1 route is not the solution according to me. It means more waiting for people who really know each other /have lived together or have had children, who are the ones suffering the most in the k1 process....

Zarhasalem: you didn't get my point here. First of all i am not a believer so whatever religion i don't like. I am just telling you what i have noticed, in my country especially (where in some parts there is a high muslim population).

And the difference to me with the cultures you quote is that they remain between each other and don't mix to the others, and especially they are not trying to force us to deal with their "not adapting to the culture". I just personally feel it is offensive when a woman walks next to me covered from head to toes or when it is ramadan in some places with high muslim population stores have to close earlier (in a foreign country. So glad it was all prohibited in my country. So i have no hate of muslims, i have a few muslim friends who are well adapting, who are fine and they agree with me (they are ashamed of these people who give a bad image of them). And of course it doesn't apply to the whole population, but i just says that it applies more to muslims than others.... my opinion.
