My husband arrived 2 and a half weeks ago on a cr1 visa. Does anyone know how long it takes for the USCIS to send his green card, and SS to send his social security card? And does anyone know if there is a way for us to track his green card?

Thanks

My husband received his G.C. within a month of arriving.

Sometimes with S.S. you need to go down to the office and set it up. We went there to make sure they had him in the system, and they did, when we hit POE they had already sent in his info. It's good to double check it though if it's taking a while to get his card. After we did that he got his S.S. card in about a week.

you can call into USCIS and ask for the tracking # of the green card shipment.

It's sent first class mail with tracking info.

If they don't have the tracking info yet, it's not been shipped yet.

re: SSN - best to get into a SSA office, and apply.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
