Hello fellow VJers with Brazilian beneficiaries.

Looking at the Rio consulate site, they give us a list of documents needed http://brazil.usembassy.gov/interview/forms-for-spouse-visas.html Keep in mind that they do not have CR-1s here, but K3 ( weird that they would not have updated this site )

I have a question related to the police records from Brazil. We need a local state and a federal statement.

We want to know if you have used the ones you can get via the internet, which are fast and accurate, which the site states that you can use, OR, you used the template given at the site, and called the authorities, to go get them to fill it up instead. Also, we assume that these need to be translated, since we need to send them to NVC

I know that there are a lot of Brazilian beneficiaries that have gone through this process already, so, can you please help us ?

Thank you much

Are you sure about the K3 visa issue? That is so strange because I know at least a dozen people who have gotten IR1/CR1 spouse visas out of Rio in the past year. I see IR visas listed on the Brazil Embassy website:

http://brazil.usemba...-petitions.html

Also, K3 visas are only issued if the NVC and consulate receive an approved I-129f before the approved I-130, they are fairly obsolete now because this almost never happens. Did you file I-129f?

I would just want to be sure you're preparing for the correct visa process and if there's some way to choose, that you have the ability to choose IR1/CR1 since it's a much simpler process post-visa.

Long story short, we have a complicated case. We've been at this for nearly 5 years. You can read our story here. I highly recommend our attorney Laurel Scott, as well as attorneys Laura Fernandez and Lizz Cannon .

Filed I-130 via CSC in Feb 2008. Petition approved June 2008. Consular interview in Mexico, Oct 2008, visa denied, INA 212a6cii. We allege improper application of the law in this case.

2012, started over in Seoul: I-130 filed DCF on 7/2, I-130 approved 8/8, Medical at Yonsei Severance 11/20, IR1 appointment in November 2012.

CRBA filed 1-3-13 at Seoul for our daughter
