In a country that is 70+% white we elected a Black President, but somehow you think now that it appears we are not going to re-elect him, America is all of a sudden Racist. Do you know how absolutely stupid that sounds.

We are a totally non-segregated society across the board now, and not only are black given equal opportunity in all walks of life, we spend millions every year to make sure we reach out to provide special opportunities to minority's only that are not avialble to whites. We have AA, Contract set asides for minorities, quotas .. Seriously dude.

However we still have Black only colleges, Black only political affiliations, Black only businesses , black only entertainment companies... I could go on and on.

IMO, racism requires discrimination to be institutionalized, where certain groups of people are excluded and marginalized - and labeled as inferior to the majority. By that definition, Black people cannot be racist. They can be racial bigots, but not racists. There is a difference and that difference is centered on power.

Well minority set aside programs and quotas are institutionalized and they discriminate against whites based on color. So I guess that fits your very narrow definition of Racism.

Ok, let me clarify this in earnest:

There is a difference in racism and racist. This is what Commie is trying to say. Anyone can be racist, by saying mean things and treating someone with hatred. That's a given, but Commie has a point. We can't be accused of racism because what do we have that we can keep from anyone else?

The above mentioned things, they are not black only, they are predominately black. When has a white person tried to go to Morris Brown and been turned away because they weren't black, you can join the Black Panthers if you believe in their cause, there are whites in the party, bet you can't join the KKK if you're anything but white. You can walk in any business owned exclusively by blacks and try to get a job, they can't not hire you because you're white, if they did can you say lawsuit? And BET is owned by Viacom, so don't need to go there. The point that people miss is that these things were designed to give black people a chance when MTV and other colleges wouldn't. You have white kids now trying to make white only committees, what are they debating? What is being kept from them? What is the point when nothing is being held from you.

Vermont has extremely low crime because we allow anyone, regardless of race, to carry concealed handguns without a permit or license.

I guess I'm a racist. I don't want to live in an inner city black neighborhood. I don't want my kids going to a majority black school.

I have lived in one, I moved out before my kids got to be school age.

I know how dangerous the neighborhoods are at night. I know that if a teacher has 30 students she/he is lucky to have 10 show up for class and even luckier if the same 10 show up the next day for class. Sorry all you feel good Democrats, many people are racist for good reasons. No amount of money thrown at these people will correct the problem. All major cities with the highest crime rates are black majority and controlled by Democrat leaders. You do the math. China does it correctly. Hand them the opportunity to advance. Don't hand them free chit. This is the differance between Democrats and Republicans. Republicans will had you the opportunity, Democrats will buy you vote with the offer of free chit thus keeping you down.

That is not necessarily true, either collectively, or individually, now is it? Collectively, there are organizations that are still almost exclusively Black, and individually, there are Blacks that have been successful. Don't humor Steven in his public display of outrage at his own personal failings that he wants to bring all of mankind into.

For the record, I am proud to say I am NOT prejudiced against anyone because of race, unlike the majority of you.
