It was freaking sarcasm. Does anyone on this board seriously think I am black. Good Grief dude. I support Romney. That should be your clue

It is interesting and a little bit flattering/scary you remembered that from almost 3 months ago. WOW You really are obsessed with race aren't you I don't have a clue as to anyone's race here.

I call BS. You claimed you were black. It's as a plain as day for anyone to see. If you had posted that you were Baptist or Mormon, people here would remember that too. You got caught lying about being black and now you're trying to dismiss it as you just being sarcastic. Pathetic.

Lots of houses you can buy on a credit card

If you were bussed you're older than me but back in my day Brightmore was gang central which I'm sure hasn't changed. If your school was there it would have given you great credibility should you decide to launch a career as a white rapper

The school that I was bussed FROM was not far from Brightmoor. 7 mile and Evergreen. That was 2nd grade though. I did go to Lessinger in Junior High for awhile. Joy Rd and Evergreen area. I was 1 of 4 white kids out of 30 in my home room class. This after going to school in the suburbs from 3rd grade to 7th grade. That was quite a shock. Fire alarm being pulled once a day minimum. People setting their desks on fire. It was a zoo. The Ironic thing, was that the 3 white kids seemes to cause more problems than the 26 black kids combined.

Actually, there are some black people that support Romney: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/therootdc/post/stacey-dash-supports-mitt-romney-gets-racial-backlash-on-twitter-not-all-blacks-must-be-democrats/2012/10/09/22f792b6-1229-11e2-be82-c3411b7680a9_blog.html

I have a friend who taught in DPS for a few years who tells a story of 2 girls trying to staple another girl to the bulletin board. They were like 9 years old.

Marvin, his statement alone shows his bigotry by implying that if he were Black, he'd support Obama. This is no different from John Sununu's bigoted comment that Colin Powell only endorsed Obama because he is black. This is the kind of sh!t that the orginal post is talking about. And it's not that there are any of us who are free of our own prejudices, it's just that some here wear them like a badge of honor. They are unashamed and unapologetic. They don't try to rise above it.

That sounds about par for the course. Last time I was there I was staying in Warren with my uncle. I took my wife for a drive all the way down Van ####### to downtown. I wanted to show her what Berlin looked like after 1945.

I then took Joy road all the way out west to Telegraph. I did see some signs that things were improving on the west side. A few new strip shopping centers etc.

does that mean everyone that is voting for obama because he's black is bigoted?

Not this stupid sh!t again. Lets recap: People vote for all kinds of reasons - some may vote for Romney because he is NOT Black, some may not vote for him because he is Mormon. But it is telling when people like to single out Black voters as being a single-minded, selective group of voters.

Does what mean this? It's a straw man argument. RHR said that everyone should know he's not black because he supports Romney. He implies that Black people only support Obama because they are Black. That is bigotry. I'm sorry if you don't understand what bigotry is. May I suggest taking a class on sociology?

I feel you, but I think with in Run's case, he grew up in a different time and place. We are a bit younger than he is, and most of his statements are reflective of that time. This is why when you combat racism, you have to take in certain factors of who you are talking to. Run has informed me of how he grew up and what he sees, so in theory, he is more a product of his enviroment than being flat out racist. Plus now that you have someone of color in here trying to break down stereotypes, it will help the cause when there can be creative differences and someone can give a different perspective from the inside. It's like Archie Bunker, his remarks and actions reflect a time when you associated certain things because it was all they knew. Remember the episode when he went to a Klan meeting, even though he agreed with some of the teachings, in the end he knew what was right and wrong and made the right call. If we are going to have these discussions, we are going to have to deal with those answers and try to open people's eyes without resorting to fighting.

+1000. I hate to keep bringing up Detroit, but it was probably the most racist place I have ever lived, and I live in Texas now. I brought a black friend home from school one day, and my grandmother (immigrant from Poland no less) said "get that ni**er off my porch.

Later that month I left my bike unlocked outside of a store and it was stolen. My grandmother was convinced it was him, even though he was probably home studying or miles away. The guy ended up getting all kinds of scholorships to U of M etc. I dropped out of H.S. in 10th grade.

My dad and his brothers and sisters went to Cody in the 60s and 70s as well. My mom went to Redford. Taking the bus home from Lessinger one day, and there was a stop at Cody for some reason. Apparently, one kid at my school had beat up another kid. The kid who took the beating, his older brothers and his friends attacked the bus with bricks. Busted out a bunch of the school bus windows. I remember hiding under the seat. Ahh I miss Detroit. Good times!
