Has anyone ever done a virtual date? I did a virtual vacation way back when I was really bored...by myself. It was kind of fun. I found the most expensive hotel in greece, then hopped to a few parties that I found on google, went to a few churches, went to some restaurants, etc. Learned about the culture. It took a while to get the links though so I'm wondering if there's like a site out there where you can do a virtual date anywhere in the world. Like make pretend you're going to Rome for the night or something and it would have choices of hotels, restaurants, tours etc. Then that would give you something cool to share and talk about.

OK, so for those of you who are now with your SOs, if you experienced this feeling during your "internet marriage", did it improve once you were reunited in person or do you find that you still don't really have anything to talk about?

What I'm trying to get at is... is it just because there's only so much to discuss online?

No... it does change when you are together. Well at least for us we're always talking about something that happened during the day or explaining something or learning English or asking "If I get shot do I have to pay if I go to the hospital?". That's my favorite.

Definitly not my favorite, I think I like the slang he recently picked up

Who is he afraid is gonna shoot him?

Caladan...those are great ideas. I did take a belly dancing class a few months back and that was fun. Maybe I'll continue that. I was also looking into taking some classes during the winter semester. Mohamed suggested an Arabic class. Hmmmm wonder why he would suggest that?

Well last night we had the best conversation. It was a non stop conversation... so refreshing! We joked and laughed. It was so great! Within the conversation we discussed VJ...including this thread. He got really interested and asked me to set up an account for him so he can check it out. Uh oh!

 Does that mean we can't look forward to more oral sex discussions???

He's not afraid he is going to get shot, he is always asking me questions about insurance. He wants to know if something happens to him and it's not his fault does he have to pay... he likes to ask me about the weirdest scenarios I have ever heard. He also likes to ask how much does this cost? About cars, houses, food.... I'm like I just don't know!!!

LOL @ Hicham....Mohamed asks me weird stuff too. My favorite is...what if something happens to me there (car accident or whatnot)..how will you know about it?

Has anyone tried explaining credit cards? Still working on that one.

haha that sounds like Hicham. I am not a big car person but he's always asking how much that mustang will cost him and when he can buy it. I'm like not for a while. haha.

Mohamed was under the impression that a new car would only cost $3000. I was LMAO at him. I told him...sorry habibi you can't even get a nice USED car for that much. Not sure who gave him the idea that a new car would be so cheap.

hmm Hicham thinks new cars are cheap here because in Morocco they are imported and the taxes on them apparently are pretty rediculous so they pay tons for a new small car. Everytime he turns on the TV he goes right to the used car channel that a locan dealer has where they show their cars and he always picks out his favorites. It puts me right to sleep.

Same thing in Jordan. The taxes are insane. A small used car that costs about $3000 would end up being about $12000 there.

Oh man, already working on that too. The funniest part is when I explain to him that a house in my neighborhood costs about $650K and its about 50-60 years old. Then try explaining the banking system here for home loans and how much interest you pay.

We didn't exactly do it as a planned date, but one thing we did do pretty often was start talking about a place and start sending each other interesting links about it, then we would talk about what we saw on the links and look at them together.

OMG! That was a nightmare. He thought I was lying to him and I'm not sure if he believes me even yet. All I know is now he's afraid to learn to drive and absolutely won't let me teach him because I get way too nervous. My sons didn't help - they warned him that I almost drove them crazy teaching them. He even commented this week that if he'd have known what a huge deal it was over here he'd have learned how to drive before he got here. He used to tell me he wouldn't want to drive here - he'd just walk or take the bus like there. Then he got here and realized you can't go much of anywhere on the bus here without it taking an hour and a half, and walking around here after dark isn't such a great idea.
