As we are discussing revealing information to the spouse or fiance it is definitely something you should let him/her know about. As for letting the Department of State know, if you have significant resources and don't declare them (one of the reasons they prefer a tax transcript and not just a W-2) they may wonder if you are hiding. If it is just a few thousand and a single home the Embassy doesn't care. If you have a multi-million dollar portfolio and real estate all over the country it might be a good idea to include that information.

While I agree with the SO needing to know things relevant to financial stability and/or exceptional wealth or lack thereof, the I-134 serves one purpose. That is to determine if the petitioner meets or exceeds the qualifying income for household. If one does meet or exceed it, there is no need to go into any further details for the purpose of that form. If anything else regarding finances is deemed pertinent by the CO, it will discussed.

embassy asks for a tax return, not just a W2, they accept the tax transcript as well. But there is no reason to declare assets that are not needed to mee the requirement.

item "m" of the embassy letter - Evidence of Support, the ask specifically for a tax return and W2:

Correct, the US State Department doesn't require it to be declared. However that is not the subject of this thread. The only thing being discussed here is how honest you have to be with your spouse or fiance. The person that posted the question I was responding to simply asked if that information they were asking for needed to be revealed with no clarification who they wanted to reveal the information to in the first place. The Embassy will have a lot of information you don't provide them based on their own background reports and investigation. It is a common tactic to spring information during an interview to deliberately trip someone up in order to probe for a genuine relationship. How surprised would you fiance or spouse be if the consul asked them about your vacation house in Florida or your significant stock holdings and they didn't know about them previously?

It's not the subject of this thread, correct, but the poster asked if these items were "mandatory to divulge" regarding the I-134. The I-134 being specific in question. The answer is no. If there are important details such as that vacation house in Florida in your life, you would divulge it to your fiance in conversation. For the sake of the Affidavit of Support form, it isn't necessary. For the sake of proving a "bonafide relationship", it very well could be used in an interview.
