I feel like this was a stab at my comment and I would just like to state that I did not call anyone a pagan for celebrating any holiday.... I also never argued that a dog is impure.

It was not a stab at you. It was a joke not directed at anyone in particular - just about the how many different beliefs exist around this day. I threw in the dog thing because I thought that would make it clear it was not directed at anyone.

Mohammed wanted to celebrate this Halloween with the kids, but alas it'll have be over the stupid cell phone AGAIN. We really thought he'd be here for this. He is game to share anything fun with family, so even though he knows the origin of the holiday, as do I, we just like to share in the festive sentiments of the holiday with the kids. Hopefully NEXT YEAR he'll be here for it. *grumbles*

Awwww Jean I wish he could be here with you to enjoy. I am sure he would love seeing all the happy children in their little costumes. I have to keep an eye on Mahmoud -- he loves kids so much -- he would probably give all the candy away to the first children who come, and then we have none left for all the rest !!

Insha'allah Mohammed will be with you very soon, and you will get to make up for all this time apart. You're in my prayers.

Wellllll here it is -- Mahmoud's very first ever attempt at carving a pumpkin

I didn't even think he would be so interested in it, but when I brought it home he was looking and looking. Then when I starting cutting a lid into the top, he said "Hey let me do it" and... well... he just took over !
