Depends on if you file I-130 in the states for CR-1 and case works it's way through he normal channels the fee is paid to USCIS in the states. If the case was filed at the embassy as in the case of DCF the fee gets paid at the embassy since NVC is not involved for DCF cases.

It is not paid in both places (double billed)

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

justbee,

The DoS fee for processing I-864 is $70. The $380 is the fee for processing the immigrant visa application plus a security surcharge - $335 + $45.

The letter we received from the embassy was very confusing and led us to believe the same thing. It is just a form letter though and as long as you have paid at NVC you do not have to pay at the embassy. I kept all my cashier check stubs just in case there was a problem.

I-864 fee is $70.00. Plus you will need to pay $380.00 as the Immigrant Application Visa Fee. After paying these two fees, the foreign alien spouse does not need to pay anything during interview.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
