Bad Experience In Houston

My Fiance was just stopped in Houston after spending 2 weeks in Singapore. She said that the officer was arguing with the people in front of her and sent 6 people in a row to a room. We have followed all the rules during her Visa process. They 1st told her that she would have to leave and couldnt stay, even though she has return ticket for January. They then called me and told me that she will have to stay gone 90 days next time and that they didnt want people just going into Mexico for a day and then coming back nd starting the 90 days over. I jsut spent 3500 dollars to fly her back so she wasnt here for more than 90 days and he compares her to going into Mexico for the day. I aksed him how do we find out these rules and regs and he couldnt answer me. It seems its just up to the person that you see at that time. Its been over 7 months since we submitted her paperwork and they are just now processing March 5th and hers was accepted on March 13th. I guess Im just frustrated that we follow the laws and do what we are supposed to and this is what we get!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last time she was in US 60 days and then in Singapore for 15 now back here for 90....

Yeah, there's your problem. The Visa Waiver program is for tourism, not for de facto living in the US.

Generally a good rule of thumb is not more time in the US than out.

Yep. It's not JUST not staying past 90 days. It's also returning home (or leaving the US) for at minimum as long as she was here. That, coupled with a pending immigrant visa, is probably your problem. It sounds like they let her in, though, so just keep it in mind for next time.
