Hi everyone!

We're about to fax our checklist into Vancouver this Friday... anyone know how long the wait is lately for an interview out there?

We've been slow going on this phase... I can't wait to get it all over with! :)

12/12/2005 - Sent I-129F to Vermont! (Day 1)

12/13/2005 - I-129F arrives at VSC! (Day 2)

12/16/2005 - Check Cashed! (Day 5)

12/22/2005 - NOA1 received by snail mail (Day 11)

1/10/2006 - NOA2 received by email! (Day 30)

1/14/2006 - NOA2 received by snail mail (Day 34)

1/17/2006 - Letter Received from NVC (Day 37)

1/30/2006 - Fiance receives Packet 3! (Day 50)

3/1/2006 - Medical Exam (Day 79)

3/3/2006 - Checklist Faxed to Consulate (Day 81)

3/14/2006 - Call to Consulate, Interview Scheduled for April 10th!!

3/17/2006 - Packet 4 w/interview date finally arrives!

4/10/2006 - K-1 VISA APPROVED! (Day 121)

6/11/2006 - Border Crossing at Peace Bridge (Buffalo, NY)

6/16/2006 - Legally Married!

10/1/2006 - Our Wedding Day

AOS Journey:

8/7/2006 Sent AOS/EAD/AP to Chicago (Day 1)

8/8/2006 AOS/EAD/AP Arrive at Chicago Lockbox

8/16/2006 NOA1 for AOS/EAD/AP

9/11/2006 AOS Transferred to CSC

10/17/2006 AP Approved (by email)

10/18/2006 EAD touched!

11/25/06 Biometrics scheduled

They emailed us an interview date 2 days after we faxed the checklist in. The interview was still a month away but at least we didn't have to wait forever to know when it was. Be sure on the fax that give them your email address and request that they email you with the date once they get it scheduled. They were very good about emailing. Best of luck!

Hi,

Are you not given the opportunity to request an interview date? Or do they just assign one to you? We have all of our paperwork in order already so as soon as I get the Packet 3, all I have to do is get the medical then I'll be ready for the interview. We were hoping in a week or so after I fax back the checklist....

3/24/06 I emailed consulate asking where is packet 3?

4/03/06 Consulate responded to my email saying packet 3 was mailed 3/23/06 and consulate attached packet 3 so I faxed DS230 and requested interview date asap

4/5/06 Medical (booked two weeks previous)

4/6/06 Consulate phoned to say received fax and booked interview

5/5/06 Interview in Vancouver - Approved!

5/9/06 Drove to Seattle then flew to Tampa - Yay welcome back 'home'

mid July - got married

early August - sent AOS/EAD applications

08/14/06 NOA for AOS/EAD

08/22/06 RFE - sent more financial info (most they already had, but we resent anyway)

09/09/06 - Biometrics

09/11/06 -NOA - transferred to California Service Center

10/16/06 - Approved without interview!!!!! Yay, what a birthday present! (but still no EAD!)

I guess it all depends on how backed up they are. I know that vancouver is a lot quicker than montreal. But we still had to wait a month. there is a place on the checklist where you can request an interview date. We just put down "soonest available". I think a week after you send in packet 3 is stretching it quite a lot and will probably not happen. But you never know! Anything can happen in this immigration adventure. Check out some of the timelines for other people. That's what i did to get an idea of how long they were going to take.

Vancouver lets you do the medical up to a day before the interview, so that really makes things convienent if you are from out of town --- I got the interview date I selected and probably could have gotten it for a week earlier if I wanted it to --- I have no issues at all with Vancouver --- the fact that you dont have to fill our an I-134 and you can fax everything is just great---

01/25/07 - RFE for I-824 - used and outdated form

02/14/07 - Get email stating Post Office has Address posted as Vacant from the USCIS

02/16/07 - Hubby gets WA State Drivers Licence

03/05/07 - AOS appointment April 19, 2007 Seattle

04/13/07 - Biometrics Taken for AOS

04/19/07 - AOS interview - Approved pending name check

04/23 - 05/28 - 5 additional appointments with the Seattle USCIS office - to clear up the EAD issue

05/15/07 - 90 Day EAD Arrives

06/10/07 - EAD/Green Card approval letter arrives

06/15/07 - EAD arrives

06/23/07 - 2 year conditional Green Card Arrives

I didn't realize you could get your medical done right before the interview for Vancouver. Does this go for K-1 Visa's too? Boy that would make my fiance be happy if that is true. He lives 4 hours from Vancouver.
