I had my interview Oct. 4 set by NVC to consular of Montreal BUT i ended up missng some required info and i needed to send them in. I didnt know that i had to use csc courier service and i ended up using xpresspost with signature required upon delivery. Also instead of sending it to the p.o box that they have set up i sent it directly to the consulate because (i dont know if the lady from csc courier service understood me or not) told me to. I checked online at canadapost.ca and it says someone recieved it and signed it. Should i panic or not??? Please answer me. :-/

P.S the interview lsted only 7min and it was good. Just needed to sens in my passport and taxes from my petioner and sponser.

From reading other peoples threads on similar issues, it often takes Montreal a month on average to process what you sent in after they get an RFE. Be patient.

I just received an email from them. After i sent this:

"Hello, My name is "blank" and this hasnt been my first email sent. I had recently did my interview, but ended up missing some documents. Which was my passport and taxes from my petioner and sponsor. I didnt know I was suppose to send it with csc courier service so I ended up sensing it through canada post express. It shows online on canadapost.ca that my delivery has been made and was signed by "I ARMOUR" the purpose of this message is did you guys recieve my documents? And another thing. I sent it directly to the consulate. I wasnt well informed about the p.o box that you guys set up especially for this. Can you please respond? Its been a ruff tine for me not knowing where my passport and my moms personal info just passing around."

And their reply:

" Good day,

We are pleased to acknowledge receipt of the documents. Please note that all mail addressed to the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal undergoes thorough security clearance procedures at an offsite facility. This creates additional delays for the mail to actually reach our office. The date you claim the mail was delivered is not the actual date our office has received your mail. You may expect your case to be reviewed within 4 weeks from the date that the mail was sent.

I hope that this information may be useful."

#######? It wads a yes or no question.... Aargh!

whats the problem?? They were nice enough to say yes they have it and explained the process. Now you just have to sit and wait and wait.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
