the first thing i thought when i learned romney was a serious candidate was - no way rwnj christians are going to accept a president from a cult - i mean look at the field day they have with the ties obama has to islam. i've actually had arguments with folk who think obama can't wait to get out of office so he can finally eat the family dog! any, apparently mormonism is what conservative christians USED to refer to as a cult. now? nope. nothing. mind blowing.

Man is not even in office yet. Give him at least the same two months the right gave Obama, and a Republican controlled House and Senate.

No. I think it's because both sides are seen as pagans. Obama is affiliated with a non-orthodox Christian cult and is trying to pretend he's a Christian (most real Christians are aware of the difference between Reverend Wright's views and that of orthodox Christianity), while Romney is a straight up pagan (belief in multiple gods, actually an infinite number of them).

And RWNJ Christians prefer their pagans straight up, thank you very much. (sarcasm for those who don't get it--no religious person cares about Romney's religion because Obama's isn't any better)

Coming from a purely Christian perspective.

Romney is a straight up pagan (belief in multiple gods, actually an infinite number of them).

That should actually endear him to the heathen left. I am surprised he didn't go for that angle. All the hippies I know believe in multiple gods, very few believe in a single unifying god, especially a male one.

They might not be attracted to the "only one way to become a god" theology. They are probably more of the Oprah Winfrey "multiple ways to become a god" type pagans.

I am with you. I am more of the "Freedom FROM Religion" kind of guy. I actually think it is one thing the Former Soviet Union gets right. They do not restrict religion and allow freedom of worship but the government does not recognize ANY religion or their holidays. In fact, you MUST get married by the civil authorities and then can have a church wedding, but the church wedding is not "legal". The legal marriage takes place in the civil ceremony.

Rather than try to recognize ALL religions and call it fair, I say it is better to recognize NONE and call it fair.

lol. Relax. It was just a joke. Don't take it too seriously.

Romney is, though. All Mormons are. Maybe they don't believe what you believe, but they do believe in an infinite number of gods. That's all that matters. All polytheists are technically pagan. The reason I said Obama was a pagan was merely to lump him an Romney in with the same "false religion" crowd.
