The methodology in that Regnerus study is a bit weird. Apparently, a parent only had to have one same-sex relationship in their lifetime to be labelled "homosexual." As we know from much discussion on here recently, a single same-sex sexual encounter need not make one gay or even bisexual. And further, Regnerus then excluded parents who had had at least one same-sex relationship from the category of intact biological parents living together, even if they were actually living together!

Amazeballs.

Since we're picking and choosing studies that "prove" our point:

http://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2012/10/study-gay-adoptive-parents-make-great-adoptive-parents/263893/#

Study: Gay Adoptive Parents Make Great Adoptive Parents

PROBLEM: Should we allow highly at-risk children in the foster care system who are in need of homes and loving families to be adopted by homosexual couples? The quick answer is "yes," but it's always good to have some science to back that up.

METHODOLOGY: This is the first study to compare children who were adopted out of foster care by gay men, lesbian women, and heterosexual couples, and to track their progress over time, explains lead author Justin Lavner, a doctoral candidate at UCLA. The researchers followed 82 children in Los Angeles County -- 22 of whom were adopted by homosexual parents at the average age of 4 -- and evaluated them after two months, one year, and two years after they were placed with their adoptive families.

That tells you all you need to know.

The study I posted is the most comprehensive study today, working with such a small minority groups makes for an expensive undertaking.

Most of the "success" studies you will find are not even really research, often they are based on info gleened from ads placed in Gay publications.

This would be like the NRA seeking research on firearms in the home and then getting participants from gun publications.

The study I posted is also the first to study long-term data.

One of the most troubling findings was at the question "Have you ever been touched sexually by a parent or adult." Traditional families had a 2% incident yet the Lesbian model had 23% . (10 times more often).

To be fair you also see an increase in these rates for children raised with step parents.

I doubt any amount of facts demonstrating that Gay marriage is not on par with Hetro marriage would sway your ideology on the topic, kids be dayamed.

Have you read that critique in the Chronicle of Higher Education that I posted?

Because we all know it's normal for a kid to be raised in a homosexual household. It's not like the kid is going to get any ridicule from classmates and we know that when he see's his dad laying a big ol French Kiss on some guy with a beard that it's normal as apple pie. Makes for some great family photo's also. I mean everyone wants their kid to spend the night over at the kid's house that has the homosexual parents. I guess more of us should have been raised in a circus like environment.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Kids are mean. Kids with heterosexual parents are bullied all the damn time and for the stupidest ######. So we're gonna blame the kid or his environment, and not the bully? Makes sense.

Why should people care what you (or others) think of their family photo? I spent the night at a homosexual's house many times as a kid. My mother's best friend was a lesbian, who had the same partner her entire life. I was raised around them, spent nights at their house with their kid, spent holidays with them. Guess what? Nobody gave a ######.

if any of the study you posted were to be credible - the married mom and dad group would need to be instead a cohabitating mom and dad, at some point in the child's life. period. to present two groups in any other fashion is a disheveled playing field. if you need me to forward my son's fifth grade study guide on scientific method, i'd be happy to.

Like most things, it depends on the environment. Not everybody lives in a hated filled community.

Meanwhile back in the world where a man and a woman make a baby and call it a family.... hey you see those two guys sitting in the stands watching our little league game? That's my ol man and my mom dad. They like to take me out for ice cream after the game and then they go home and spend a few hours in the sack together.

Did I just come here from planet Pluto? I don't think so. You and the rest of the bunch can call an apple an orange all day long but in the end it's still an apple. Try harder.

It's the usual anti-gay sentiment that some users have and can't help but broadcast. Times are changing and they're being left behind, so they lash out.

Wait a minute, so you are saying, gays raising kids should not be compared (in raising stable kids) as Mom and dad raising their own kids?

It not a fair comparison?

It is a "less than ideal" model?

(sorry didn't mean to out you)

Save the kids are mean spiel. Kids aren't stupid as you think. They know that there is nothing normal about one guy pumping the dog ####### out of another man and then getting pumped by said man when it's his turn to play catcher.

In your mind, would it change anything if the lesbian group were all given married status? It seems like a grasp at straws, really. I don't know if the study is true or not, but it seems to me like the marital status of the lesbians would not change the stats. It just changes what is written on a piece of paper.

That could just be me, though.

So you think that if the liberal media keeps telling kids over and over and over that something is normal when it's obviously not that all of a sudden it's going to be what the media says it is?
