Hi VJ members, here we go again riding the pain train, I got married to my K-1 Fiancée on October 03, I mailed the AOS package (with all the documentation as advised by VJ) for my wife and her K-2 daughter to Chicago lockbox (FBAS) on October 18 and was delivered and signed for it on October 19 at 11:30. The AOS package included for both my wife and her daughter the I-485, I-675 and I-131 enclosed on each form was the G-1145. Today is October 25 AND I HAVE NOT RECIEVED EITHER E_MAIL NOR SMS, AND MY CHECK WAS NOT CLREAD EITHER, although per G-1145 instruction, USCIS WILL NOTIFY THE APPLICANT/PETITIONER WITHIN 24 HOURS OF ACCEPTING THE PRESENTED FORMS. Would appreciate response from VJ members who are experience the same delay and on the same boat, or any advice would be great.:thumbs:

Relax, they have 30 days to send you the notice. :) It usually takes a few weeks.

Plus the emails/texts system sometimes does not work, nothing you can do about it.

Hi Mishka,

Did you, by chance, send the documentation through USPS with a tracking code? Are you sure the package has arrived? If it has arrived I would try sending an email to the USCIS with your name, beneficiary('s) name(s) and the tracking number of the document. Express your concern, you have not yet received an NOA2 nor has your check been cashed. Hopefully this will prompt someone to look for your file, especially if it has been more than a week. The initial "we've received your application" and assigning a case number usually does not take more than a week.

In addition, keep a record of all your phone calls. If it becomes more than three weeks and you have the same issue, you may want to ask to speak with a tier two supervisor. Many blessings to you!

It's been only 6 days! I bet you will hear something if you be patient a little more, no need to call the USCIS yet, it's way too early.

Don't sweat it. It took them 10 days to send me the text notification saying it is being processed after they received it. Also did you send in the I-693 vaccination only form. I have seen some people say they didn't and still get approved. I didn't and it wasn't until my interview that I got an RFE for it. I did send in a copy of the vaccination record I received for my K1 visa but it was not sufficient. Remember now is also flu season so all applicants will need to include a flu shot with the I-693, even if all other vaccinations were up to date. As I said some have passed without the I-693 but I didn't. Good luck with the more waiting ahead

If their medical was done before it was flu season and all the other required vaccinations are marked off on the DS-3025, then they do not need to go to a civil surgeon and get a flu shot now. IF the DS-3025 does not have everything marked off properly and/or all vaccinations were not done at the time of their medical, then they will need to see a civil surgeon for an I-693. Since they will need to get the I-693, the new date of when they see the civil surgeon for the I-693 will be the one that USCIS will go by and in that case they will need to go ahead and get the flu shot as required for flu season.

When I said it was not sufficient, I did not mean that I was missing vaccinations, well I was missing the flu shot. I had all of the vaccinations I was required to have to enter the USA. The IO told me that in 99.9% of cases the DS-3025 was not completed correctly or to the USCIS's liking and that is why people need to submit the vaccination section of the I-693 during the AOS process. I do not know why they just don't get the doctor's who complete the DS-3025 to complete an I-693 instead. It would seem to make the whole process a little bit simpler. I think it is just another grab for cash from immigrants who have to pay a lot to get and be here in the USA with their loved ones. I wish I had gotten married and then applied for a CR-1 visa. It may have taken a little longer but it would have been a lot cheaper in the long run

Oh, I believe it allows civil surgeons to rake in more money off immigrants. Disgusting really. There is no reason they cannot streamline the process and have all K-1 applicants get all the vaccinations needed and forms filled out properly before the AOS stage. It would make it easier for everyone. Simple, clear and straight forward without confusing instructions and people having to wonder if and when to see a civil surgeon and what is needed when/if they do.

My Fiancée was not given copy of DS-3025, but we went to civil surgeon and got the vaccination page and first page of I-963 were in sealed envelope

and was part of the AOS documentation.

I would like to thank all VJ members who took time and care to respond to my posting, to summarize my answers to all:

1- My wife AOS package was mailed express mail with tracking #, the USPS delivery Notice and the person who signed for the package delivery is printed and kept as proof of delivery.

2- Vaccination: My wife, her daughter and I visited Civil surgeon and she completed the vaccination record page and along with first I-693 page in sealed envelope were given to us and were included in the package, I do not have any idea if they were given Flu shot or not, hopefully civil surgeon should know what were needed /required.

3- I will be patient as you guys recommended and see, I will be happy if my check fee is cleared.

4- Reason I'm freaked out, my previous bad memory of loosing my file during I-129 precess is still hunting me, and as you all know USCIS only wait for plus 5 months to send you RFE, and in my case they were asking for all the documentation that were submitted with the initial I-129F petition. That is WHY I"M FREAKED OUT. THanks again for every one and shall keep you updated.

I didn't realise that you already had a bad experience with your visa journey. I am glad that you did the right thing by going to the civil surgeon first. Just be a bit more patient and it will all happen. I think calling or emailing the USCIS yet is a waste of time as they will only say that they don't know, or that you are not in the system yet so they can te you nothing. I hope that your AOS journey goes well

I'm going to remember that one, very accurate description.

Gosh, best of luck with your AOS. Patience is a virtue!

That is good. If you don't get a DS-3025 at your medical and are unsure if you had all the vaccinations, then you need to see a civil surgeon for the I-693. Juarez does not give vaccinations to K-1 applicants and either gives no DS-3025 or a blank one, so my husband also had to see a civil surgeon to get an I-693 before filing for AOS.

Good luck to you!
