Hi Everyone,

I need help on filling up the I-131 form. When I called the USCIS the other day, the representative told me that I can file it together with the I-485 form. Here are my questions:

1. What is the difference of Advance Parole and Re-entry permit?

2. What will I put on the question "date of intended departure" and "expected length of trip"? I don't have a plan of leaving the country as of this

time.

3. Do I have to pay the fee if I file I-131 separately?

Thank you in advance!

I-751 Processing

4/18/15- Sent paperwork to California Service Center

4/20/15- USPS tracking: Documents delivered

4/30/15-Chek encashed

5/2/15- Received NOA :)

1) From Part 2a, a reentry permit is only for permanent residents (who travel out of the US for more than a year). You are not one yet, and what you want is a temporary travel document while your AOS (permanent residency) application will be processed. This document is an Advance Parole (AP).

2) Put Unknown to both.

3) The I-131 and I-765 fees are waived when you file those applications with your AOS one. Total for AOS+EAD+AP is $1,070 (=cost of the AOS application).

Thank you again for your help. For some reason these type of questions the USCIS customer representatives don't want to give answers. :)
