Maybe this belongs on the 'embassy' forum?

But I think it fits here too.

Our petition has been approved--have NOA2 and case number----we are in the home stretch (I hope)

I'm getting ready to send the last bits----proof of financial support w/I-30 etc----

NOW----about this proof of ongoing relationship or whu---????

I assume I've ALREADY proved we've met in the last two years since our petition was approved and we have a case number right?

Or is this still hanging in the air??

What do they want from us NOW!!? (he says loudly from his soapbox in the center of the room)

So----am I focusing on an ongoing relationship SINCE filing---or are we retelling our story since day one---all over again?

Do they want the same old pictures I sent in with the I-129 petition??? But--don't they have them already? Doesen't the NVC send the embassy the entire package?

I haven't seen her since filing so I have no new photos and I assume they already have th old ones--or not?

How much of the original I-29 actually reaches the embassy.

I was going to make my 'evidence' mostly phone bills and phone card bills since this is our major evidence of "ongoing"

So----they really want to see the originals of the plane ticket stubs etc? I thought that was 'Old news' since we're already approved?

Somebody help me straighten up and fly right--please!

Hope to send everything tomorrow.

Johnta,

First off, what is the item highlighted in red (I-134)?

With respect to ongoing relationships, they are interested in what has been going on since you filed the I-129F. Like you indicated, e-mails, phone records, visits and so forth. You do not need to start from day one, rather, focus on what contact you have had since the original petition filing date..

Maybe this belongs on the 'embassy' forum?

But I think it fits here too.

First off your petition as been approved but the visa still is "hanging" using your terms.

One of the requirements of the visa process is demonstrating that you are maintaining your relationship with your fiancee' post-petition. How have you "kept in touch". Have you visited in the interim? If you have then show the evidence of that trip. Other evidence would include phone calls, e-mails, chat logs, etc.. anything that will demonstrate to the consulate officer that you still are a "couple".

oops! Thanks William-- I meant that to be I-134 (not I-130)

I feel kind of rebellious and don't want to send tho whole dang !-129F to Ukraine since we're already approved and I assume the embassy has the original now--or is that not the case?

Anybody know if the embassy receives the WHOLE thing just as we filed it?

Johnta,

The Embassy/Consulate receive the bulk of the papers you sent to USCIS, with a few additions.

You're getting toward the nub of the issue here--or part of it.

I have NOT been back to see her since filing so I have no travel documents----does that mean they are no longer interested in the ticket stubs etc--that I submitted with the !-129F ? Or do they now want to see the originals of those?

Should one do a cover letter for the 'proof of ongoing' listing the contents and explaining ongoing...?

I assume you have reviewed P3/P4 packets that are on the Kiev website. It should indicate the documents that you need to submit so they can schedule the interview. If I am not mistaken, the evidence of an ongoing relationship is presented at the interview and not with your P3 document submission. The CO in Kiev will ask your fiancee for this evidence. They are typically not interested in the evidence of the initial meeting that was the basis of your original petition.

I send my fiance copies of everything that I submitted with my initial

petition.

I send him a new Letter of Intent and Ongoing Relationship( for both of us ) notarized

and copy of the old one.

Another certified divorce decree.

And of course the obvious notarized I-134.

The same photos, some different ones.

Copies of all the previously submitted emails, phone bills etc.

plus new ones.

Copies of the previously submitted original flight ticket.

I am not taking any chances on anything that was submitted

being lost.

Who really knows if everything that was initally send with your petition

will actually arrive at the embassy or was just pitched by some ding dong

clueless that it wold be helpful at the embassy ?

If you think they are so efficient ........go ahead !!!

Not taking any chances, I submitted EVERYTHING AGAIN.

JB,

This "proof on ongoing relationship" is a mis-statement of the actual requirement. What it is that the visa applicant, not you, needs to prove is that the relationship is not solely for the purpose of evading immigration law.

This mis-understanding can be a big frustration for petitioners with fiance(e)s and spouses in high-fraud countries. "We provided tons of evidence - hundreds of e-mails and reams of phone logs". Great, but did those tons of evidence clearly indicate that the visa applicant wasn't patiently e-mailing you and listening to your voice because they thought it was their easiest route to a Green Card?

So, think about what it is about the relationship that needs to be proved, and who needs to prove it.

....

NOW----about this proof of ongoing relationship or whu---????
