Hello VJers, I have read a lot of topics about requiring to meet your fiancee face to face before filing for K1. But in my case, me and my fiancee met each other face to face for the first time about 3 weeks after I filed for K1. Anybody knows or going thru similar situation? Pls provide some thoughts. I feel kinda stuck because we're now 4 months past in the process and waiting for RFE or NOA2 or something. I hate losing any more time, but will have to understand that i may have overlooked one of their silly condition.

It's not a "silly condition." It's one of the primary requirements for having a petition approved and requires specific proof. What will likely happen is you'll receive an RFE asking for proof of meeting in-person within the two years prior to filing the petition. Because you're not able to do that, the petition will be denied.

Did you collect proof while visiting? You'll need it should you choose to refile for the I-129F.

You messed up big time. The petition will probably be denied because you failed to meet the requirement that you and your fiancée meet within the last two years BEFORE you file the I-129f.

This "silly" condition is clear in the instructions.

If you have not met BEFORE you filed the petition, your petition will be denied. This is one of the main requirements of this application. Instead of waiting for either an RFE or a denial notice, maybe it's best to just withdraw and refile.

The two main requirements of the I-129F petition are: you are both free to marry at the time you file and you have met face-to-face within the 2 years prior to filing. They are strict about those two requirements. You did not meet face-to-face until after you filed the petition. You did not meet the requirements. You can continue to wait until you receive an RFE that you cannot supply and answer to asking for proof you met before filing and get denied that way, OR you can go ahead and withdraw your I-129F petition. Send a written letter to the service center processing your petition and request that your petition be withdrawn. After that, gather all the required evidence and documents and refile based on your recent face-to-face visit. Read the I-129F form instructions and follow the guide here on VJ and you should be okay your second time around.

Agree with all the others. If you want to save time, pull the original petition now and re-file.

Unfortunately, your overlooking a requiremet will result in a denial of your petition, and you will be required to file again.

Well your oversight will cause your petition to be denied and you lose the money you sent.

Wait until that happens and then refile again since you now have met within 2 years PRIOR to sending in the petition. There is some silliness here but I doubt it is by the USCIS.
