NO there absolutely are hate crimes, holy smokes there are over 300 million people in this country, one can find cannibalism too.

What I cast doubt on is that there is a special need for alarm as if this is a "big" problem, I would suggest it is a very small problem or not even a problem just a reality to be dealt with.

If you want to focus on race being an element of crime, you are wasting your time hunting down the Klan, turn on your evening news and see who the perps are and who the targets are.

The press chose to make this crime bigger than life. So let's take a look at what didn't receive press on all the wires and news services.

I am against race, sex, nationality, religious, and sexual orientation discrimation in all forms. Why should someone get less punishment for killing my white child than for killing a black child? Why shoud someone get less punichment for killing a man that is not gay? Aren't we all equal? If we need to INCREASE punishment for crimes, I am OK with that, increase for EVERYONE. Equally.

If there is someone here that thinks we should have racial discrimination, then say so.

Ev's point wasn't pointed at you, but there are some people that do believe we are not all equal, that's obvious as the day is long.

I wish they would punish everyone the same, that way when someone takes a life, race wouldn't come into play, as evident as Trayvon Martin's parents know all too well...

Isn't all murder a hate crime ? If I beat a guy into a comma because he is a Florida Gator fan, why is it more of a crime if I beat him into a coma because he is member of a minority group ?
