Wow! Compare the 2008 percentages to 2012. Obama sure has fallen off. There's not one state in the so-called toss-ups where he has a larger percentage difference than he did in 2008. That's pretty telling.

Yes, I agree there should be no surprise. Considering where he started any president would have had a major challenge in the past 4 years. I always say we could have been much worse off today.

I think Obama made the mistake of setting expectations far too high. Hope and change are wonderful ideals, but the amount of change he was promising far exceeded the limits of reality.

Regardless most of the major polls have Obama dropping like a rock and Rasmussen is always dead on the mark. Unless Romney gets caught doing something mighty dumb it's looking might bad for Obama right now.

In 2008, Obama won by 7.3 percent, 52.9 to 45.6.

CNN & Ipsos nailed it with a 7-point spread 53/46.

Rasmussen underestimated Obama with a 6-point spread, 52/46.

Nope outdated data. Romney is up 5 in Florida and 4 in Colo. Outside margin of error. Hardly tossup. Obama is up 1 in Ohio. That is a tossup.
