He was actually a decent governor of Mass.

He should be competitive in Mass then, no? Yet, he isn't. And it's not for lack of statewide support of Republicans. Sen. Brown is competitive in the state so nobody can say bloody libruls of MA just won't support Republican candidates. Now, Clinton carried Arkansas and became President. Gore lost Tennessee and failed at his White House bid. Mitt will lose MA. You figure out the rest.

Did you live here when he was governor? I lived through his administration and I thought he was a terrible governor.

During the debate Romney once again mentioned the Abigail Adam's scholarship in the same misleading way that he presented it as governor.

We were told that if your child does well on the MCAS they can get a "free ride" and attend a MA state school "tuition free". My daughter was a recipient of that scholarship so imagine our shock when we discovered that we would still be paying thousands each semester for her college tuition. In MA the tuition is the smallest part of the cost for college. The bulk of the cost is related to fees. The education budget cuts Romney made impacted schools who in turn passed those costs on to students as increased fees.

The mandatory health plan which Romney was involved in requires MA residents to have health insurance meeting specific criteria. If you cannot afford it then you are penalized when you file your taxes and must pay a fee for not having adequate coverage. He has always favored the wealthy and big businesses. He is not for Middle class and in fact does not even seem to know what it means as he believes people earning 250k are in the middle class. I would say anyone earning a quarter of a million dollars is wealthy not middle class by any stretch.

He does not support planned parenthood which helps lower income women to obtain birth control and gyn services besides the controversial abortion services they offer.

I could go on and on.

If you look at the polls it is very clear that Romney is not liked in MA. I seriously hope he loses because he would destroy the country.

well there is a terrifying thought! Bush had a bunch of warmongers advising him!

I lived through Romney's tenure as gov. of Mass, and I voted for him. I think he did a great job for our state. He balanced a budget that was $1.5 billion in debt the day he took office, and it was predicted to be $3 billion in debt by the end of his first year as gov.

The John and Abigail Adams scholarship you mention was/is for tuition only to state schools. Romney never made any claims that there would be no other charges for atttending a state school on this scholarship, it sounds like you didn't do your homework. Did you really expect your daughter to get an all expense paid trip to college for simply maintaining a gpa that put her in the top 25% of all students in the state?

The healthplan which Romney instituted in Mass was the model for Obamacare, which also carries penalties for not having coverage. I'm sure you like Obamacare though, simply because it has a "D" beside it and not an "R".

I will probably not vote for Romney as President because he has changed his views since being gov. of Mass and he doesn't present anything different than what GWB did while he was President, but to say he was a bad governor for our state is simply false.
