Does anyone here lives in Michigan and got a problem about their middle name?

I heard that Michigan State does not allow to change your middle name after you got married, you should remain to use your unmarried middle name if your going to apply for AOS...

I am from Philippines and we have different customs there that we used as we got married. I was just confused because I read some forum in different state that does not have problems regarding this.

i hope someone knows about this problem

thanks a lot..:)

You are allowed to use your maiden surname as your new middle name. You should use your new married name when you file for AOS because that is your new name going forward, and you want to have your new name on your green card.

After you are married, get a copy of your marriage certificate and change all of your existing accounts and ID to your new married name. Change your name on things like your SS card, your state ID, your bank account, etc.
